Umm, you have the catching mech upside down. Turn it around, where the spring is compressed against the plastic on the other side.

I'm light/sharpshooter, but I voted light because at SENO I dual-wielded Lock N Load and Secret Shot 2, and those are both pistols.

I don't plan on modding it right away, I just need something that will shoot accurately for like 25-30 feet, so I'm prob just gonna buy a NF and put some rubber bands on it and maybe a flashlight mod when I get the time.  Any thoughts?

Yeah.
put a heck of alot of rubber bands! So much until its too hard to cock. Its hard to pull, but its worth the range.using your left middle finger when pulling is the easiest method.

It's not worth the 10-15 ft. range when the cocking arm snaps in half.

Whether I should get 12.5mm for CPVC or 10mm for aluminium* barrels.
*Aluminium barrels are very good. They have a very smooth 'bore', are lightweight, and strong. But a little harder to work with; easy, but not as easy as PVC type products.

-Tidge.

Then I certainly think you should get it for CPVC. It's available to basically everyone; I'm not so sure about aluminum. Also, as you said, it would be much easier to work with.
