Wow that saber, and the rest of your work for that matter, is gorgeous. I'm not too familiar with the Luxeon lighting kits -- how bright are they compared to say a Master FX replica saber's setup?

I think they are much brighter. The only disadvantage is they dont have the effect of the blade extending and retracting. When you turn on a luxeon it instantly lights up.

My brother got one of those "force effects" lightsabers a while back, it made me think about making one of my own. I Googled it and came up with a couple sites devoted to people who make lightsabers and other starwars props. Yours looks particulairly nice even when compaired to some of the "pro" stuff some sites were selling.
I like the look of the metal is it steel? aluminum? and the finish brushed right? what is your power source and what are you using for the light source? any filters for the light?

FANTASTIC JOB!

thanks, It is brushed aluminum. It is done by spinning it on a wheel with 220 sandpaper. I use Luxeon star Led for the light source powered by 2 aaa batteries. The filter is the blade itself. It is a white impact resistant nylon that will not shatter. Very durable.
