Emplaced Machine Gun Design
14 August 2006 - 06:21 PM
Some point in 2005 while digging through my basment i found my old razorbeast, and forgot about it until a few nights ago (prior to buying my LongShot) when, i did something i'd always wanted to. i made an AEG Emplaced nerf weapon.
The design is quite simple. I removed the handle and large purple disc surrounding it,and attached an electric motor and cross member. A button located in the trigger guard (which i attached a large plate to for ergonomics, since the button is quite small) powers the gun. And i attached a 4" bipod to the front end.
Replacment chains were made using Copper pipe and canvas bands, which are expandable with snaps.
Overall the original low fire rate issue is resolved, since the electric motor spins faster than the original crank. The new weapon fires about 3 shots every second. The gun itself weights (with a 9v lantern battery) about 3lb more. So far these are bench test reports. Upon my next battle i'll have my field test summary.

Cars (probably Been Done Before)

I drive a 1999 nissan frontier King cab with no front bumper and no tailgate.
As far as engine mods go,i have a cold air intake and Pace setter headers, running to an edelbrock cat back exhaust.

Drum Feeds
13 August 2006 - 04:04 PM
I want to build a Drum magazine for my Longshot, but i figured i'd write up the basics.
This be my current "approach"
1.an inherently large piece of pipe (6" PVC) forms my basic shape.
2.The existing magazine will be remolded using a plaster mold and epoxy. (spray it with pam so you don't ruin it!)
What i need to know:
1.What's the best way to build resistance on the magazine
2.Is there an intrest in it
When i get paid next week it'll all go down. Seeya then.
