Longshot/raider

I don't post my mods on here much since I have my Blogto keep up with but decided to post this one. Its kinda awkward to use but really not too different from using a Longshot with the front gun attached. My goal was to have a gun that could use 2 drum clips and would give you 70 shots without reloading. I am still working out some things with the Longshot clip system but for the most part its working. I needed to keep the clip but wanted to barrel it since I added a BBB spring and I cant seem to find brass(too impatient to order some) so I used cpvc and a coupler with a foot long barrel. I had to extend the pull back of the cocking mechanism so the cpvc could clear scooping up a dart. It will probably jam frequently but oh well. The few test shots I made was hitting 90+ feet. The Raider has the normal Recon mods done to it. I just added a rod to connect the raider priming handle to the Longshots so one handle will prime both guns, this will make it a little more user friendly. It still needs more work but this is it so far. A Video of me testing it.

Longshot Recon /lr-7

Basically everything ahead of the Longshot trigger internally had to be removed the make room for the Recon, including a little bit of the bolt sled. Then I just glued(lots and lots of glue) the gray part of the recon to the LS and technically that's all holding the Recon in place but its very sturdy with no wobble at all. I used an old Recon rear cover(its longer then the new cover) so I could put a Nite Finder spring inside so the Recon has two springs and I did all the other normal Recon mods, restrictor removal and e-tape to help compress stock spring.

The Recon in foreward position. Getting that cover on the back of the the Recon was the biggest pain in the ass because the two shell being together left no room to get it on and screw the screws in.

The LS is cocked by pulling the stock back then forward. I glued a coupler on to the front of the plunger tube and added a Home Depot spring. It shoots over 100 feet now but I am not happy with this setup. I used a hanger attached to the plunger then attached to the stock. But when its cocked the hanger sticks out the back until fired and I'm affraid I might bump and bend the hanger. I might change it to cpvc with a T fitting on the end.

The black part between the gray part of the Recon and the LS is just a piece of DVD case. Thats what I use to fill in gaps on my guns. I just wanted to hide the side of the Recon and make it look clean. I still have to smooth out some glue and paint it. Normally I don't make posts, I just say go to my blog but I received a request so here you go. Enjoy.

Question About The Recon

19 June 2009 - 11:56 PM

When did they start making the black cover on the back shorter. The last recon I bought was about a year ago and I don't remember reading about any changes to the recon. And yes I did search. If it was talked about and I missed it could you point me in the right direction and sorry for the post.

older cover is up top.

Titan Shotgun With 3k

14 April 2009 - 12:23 AM

I never finished modding this Dual fire so I threw out the spring internals and put a Titan in. The Titan tank has a valve along with the pump so when the 3K is fired the Titans air does not leak out. The Titan tank has to be full before firing the 3k or else the 3k won't fully pressurize. The hose for the 3K was the extra pump outlet to fill the Hornet if connected. The pump is the original titan pump but modified with cpvc and a 2k handle. The trigger woks both guns, a slight pull fires the 3k and full pull fires the titan. I used string to tie the trigger to the titan and wire for the 3k. The Guage on the side still works and I thought it looked cool. Pump it up and you you have the 4 shot Titan and a single shot from the turret ready to go(12 pumps fills both tanks). Help With Dual Fire Dart Blaster

The problem is I'm trying to still use the green handle to pull the cord to cock the gun but from rest to fully extended is a little too short. I tried running the cord some different ways and I get close but not enough.
