Splatter-painted Longshot Modification

07 August 2020 - 05:14 PM

My mod turned out nicely and I have photos to show the making of the blaster's transformation; let's check it out:

This is a stock Longshot that I get from eBay; performs poorly :(

The mods I put into this project:

  • AR removal

  • [[[k25]]] spring replacement

  • Catch spring upgrade

  • O-ring replaced

  • E-tape under O-ring

  • Stock block with PVC

  • WN3D Creations pump grip added

  • White, blue, and green paintjob

  • Mechanical locks removed

Let's see the final result:

Wonderful!

This mod is shooting about 60-70 feet with Adventure Force Waffles. Youtube video will be up soon on my channel.

Tools for Bondo in Nerf

14 May 2020 - 08:11 PM

I was going to mod a Longshot and use Bondo to rid the creakiness of the grip. The only problem is what tools would I need to use in order to scoop out the Bondo and stir it with the red substance to apply it properly.

Zomicidal Rev-5 by Anon

11 April 2020 - 07:17 AM

This is my zombified Hammershot, the Zomicidal REV-5, which will be my personal sidearm. Let's go over the internals, and the paintjob. The project goal is to make a more over-the-top and zombified version of the OG Hammershot, and I think I succeeded in that.

For mods, the AR are removed, which is doesn't improve range that much as stock form. For a Hammershot, there isn’t that more to work with for modification besides spring upgrade and AR removal. But there will be future mods down the road soon, like probably throwing in a BlasterParts kit.

This paintjob started with a Dupli-Color Vinyl Dye and Fabric Flat Black primer, then a Rust-Oleum Imagine Neon Green for the green. For the brush details, it has Testors Acrylic Light Grey and Red for blood spatter. The black streaks you see was made via soak masking. The way I did soak masking is that I sprayed soap over the black-painted shells and painted it green. When they finally dry, I wash the shells with water and a sponge to get the green-painted soap streaks to reveal the untouched black lines. And it all finished up with a Dupli-Color Matte clear coat.

I forgot to point out that there are google eyes on the front of the blaster. This was inspired by Tom of Foamdata Services when he showcased, in a loadout, his Hammershot with google eyes and thought that was a funny idea and I personally thought it would complete the blaster’s zaniness. I will have a mod overview on my Youtube channel soon.

Generic Motor Question

10 April 2020 - 08:40 PM

I making a Rapidstrike with a 3-switch setup with 21 amp microswitchs. I was thinking of using Titan Cronus 2 motors for the flywheels and a Honey Badger for the pusher. Do I need to run a MOSFET to accommodate the Cronus 2s?
