Bbb Mod Question
30 June 2006 - 06:38 PM
I just got a BBB, and I was wondering if I took out the restrictors if there is one that I need to keep, because I heard about keeping one in. I was also wondering if I could saw about and inch or so off the barrel, dremel out the 4 lines on the inside, remove the restrictors except for the one that I might possibly need, and hot glue a crayola barrel inside the original barrel. This probably wouldn't get as good as puting brass on, because brass is generaly better, and can be longer, but I can't find any anywhere including ACE. I believe the crayola barrel would be inside the original so I could shoot stefans, but the arrows at the same time. I know the arrows are pretty useless in wars but I like fooling around with em.
If I do this what ranges should I expect?

Xp220
28 June 2006 - 07:26 AM
I had an XP220 super soaker laying around with a broken nozzle, so I decided to fool around with it a bit. All I have done so far is put a new barrel for Nerf Darts on, and it goes about twice the distance of a non modded newer nightfinder, which is fairly good in my opinion, but the good part about it is that if I pump say...............70-100 times, I have 4 shots before having to pump again. The only thing I don't like is the fact that if I bring it into a war i'll have to pump so many times, so I was wondering if I should just keep the air tank as it is, or make a smaller airtank out of PVC, so I can pump like 5 times and get good range, but not those extra 3 shots. Other than that i'll probably slap an AT2K turret on there.

Lanard Sonic Bazooka 1500
16 June 2006 - 06:06 AM
I recently bought a Lanard Sonic Bazooka at Ocean State Job Lot, and decided to mod it. A Lanard Sonic Bazooka is the same as a blast bazooka, but smaller, and has a smaller air tank. First I sawed off the front of the barrel where the orange restrictor was. Then I sawed off part of the SM1500's air tank where it connects to the turret, and glued it on to the turret so it would be air tight. Then I sawed off about 2 inches behind where there are srews in the front, and put the part I sawed off from the air tank, inside the barrel of the Sonic bazooka. While it was open I also sealed the pump, so I could get a few more pumps in but it's extremely hard to pump after 10. Everythings working fine and the turret is pretty sturdy. The next thing i'm going to do to it is pain it black or black, and green, because this gun looks UGLY with the colors it came out of the box.(Light blue, and Yellow) I'll try and get some ranges up, and a pic or two if I can borrow a camera.
EDIT: I figure someone will call me stupid for ruining a SM1500, but the Air Tank blew, and lots of other parts were broken.

At2k Problems
14 June 2006 - 06:30 PM
I have a AT2K, and I read about everyone geting ranges close to 100, but for some reason I hardly get farther than my NF. My NF has pretty decent range, but i'm thinking my AT2K should be ALOT better than it is. I did lose the O-ring, but I hot glued it, and it made it a bit better, but not as much as it should be. I'm thinking it's because I used crayola barrels, but i'm not all that sure about it, but please tell me if this is the case, because if it is i'm going to go hunt for some brass. any help will be apreciated.

Reinforcing Nf Internals
13 June 2006 - 06:12 AM
Well I recently bought some really strong springs, and I decided to put one in my NiteFinder. Everything held up when I was testing but when I went into war, I pull back on the handle; ka ding, It came out. I went inside and switched the piece you pull back, and that held up for a while too, but again broke in battle. Basicly what I mean is the piece you pull to cock the NF, had too much force on it, and just ripped the screw holding the piece with the O-ring out. If anyone has anyways to fix this, or suggest any other way to reinforce NF internals it will be highly aprecieated. I have only come up with one idea so far, but I'm not sure if it'll work. First I was going to cut a tiny square of sheet metal, and Epoxy it over where you put the screw in, and drill a smaller hole in the metal than there was before, so that the screw will not rip out.
