An update,

I was going to wait till i got a 3s lipo as that seemed necessary to run the vulcan as i currently only have 2s lipos on hand.

Then i saw this video  from walcoms7.

It shows a vulcan running fine off a 3s lipo, it also has an afterburner installed to improve range (albeit a stock stryfe cage, wheels but with some sort of 130 motors they don't specify).

I am planning on going with the upgraded spring route as finding stryfe's down under is impossible.

That said should the spring upgrade not perform as hoped I may get a cheap aftermarket cage and install and afterburner that way.

It may be a few months till i get all the bits to get this working so this should have answered your question, good luck with your mod.

Im thinking bout doing the same i got a couple in a bulk lot off gumtree.

In my reseach the stock voltage on alkaline batteries is 9V howerver have seen videos on youtube of it running on 18.8V (2 x 9.4V nimh) however they stated that a slight burning smell was emitted after use.

A 2s battery at 7.4V which makes it lower than the stock 9V but the lower internal resistance means it can push more current (amps) so im unsure if it would work on a 2s.

A 3s battery at 11.1V makes the voltage requirement however am unsure if the stock motor and wiring could handle this safely may require some upgrading.

Ill try and get back to you if i make some progress next weekend.

Hi just incase your still researching they have a similar construction to the current elite style darts, there is plug where the head of the dart is glued onto the foam.

The plug is short like current elite darts not like the streamline darts in which the plug is about an extra 15mm into the foam dart body.

Hope this helps.
