Came across this today. Mold looks identical to the normal color. Anyone else ever seen one of these?

This web site offers a free sample 1 inch by 3 inch max laser cut part out of acrylic. I figured it could be handy for someone who needs a little bracket or something made, of course nothing too load bearing. Beyond the free sample, their rates seem pretty reasonable. I am not affiliated with them, it just seemed like something people would like to know about, they may be able to do polycarbonate since you can request custom jobs.

Near me, there are a few gyms that I may be able to get access to for a small fee. All of the possible locations are based around the Jackson area. There would most likely be a small participant fee similar to Massacre because I would have to pay to use the space. I am just putting this out there to see how many people would be willing to make the trek for some indoor winter nerf.

I was walking down the street when I saw this laying next to a trash can. I was not about to keep walking without picking this beast up.



It is marked as Hasbro 2003 and it is huge. I believe that it is supposed to have a large inflatable body, which I do not have, but here is the base of the rocket next to a NF.



Here are the parts as far as I can tell. I will be cracking it open soon and will post pictures when I have them. I just thought I would get it up here sooner rather than later.

The right hand leg has an air/water thank on it, the other two legs have leveling screws on them. The upper left leg has a plastic dome on it with a ball barring that engages a safety when it is level. In the center top of the picture you can see the squeeze bulb that operates as a trigger. Something I did not get a picture of is that there is a safety mechanism in the top of the "rocket" where the inflatable top should be. I have gotten it to dry fire, and it is terrifying.

My +bow got messed up when my friend dropped it.


Upon farther investigation, I discovered that the person who made it used too thin of polycarbonate for the 1/8 pieces. It does not even seem like it is polycarbonate. After wasting $10 on a new sheet of polycarbonate and realizing that the maker had done such a hack job that I could not make the replacement pieces line up. The guy who was helping me with the machining decided he wanted to re-engineer the whole thing. Naturally, I did not protest.
He began by turning a custom bushing for the front that would seal with an oring, It accepts any pvc barrel, just like a normal +bow.

Then we installed custom fabricated aluminum blocks onto the sides of the catch area.


We then made a front plate and put threaded rods through the aluminum blocks and the front plate and tightened nuts onto either end.



Now, instead of all the force of the spring going into the front joints and a tiny little bolt, the stresses are held between aluminum plates and pieces of 1/4 inch polycarb, attached together by steel rods. This is by no means the best way to do this, but it used what we had on hand, and works well.

Also, if I my say so, It looks damn imposing.
