Wow. Haven't posted in nearly a year. I have an announcment, though:

NerfWorld has returned and can be found at the following URL:

http://www.nerfhq.com/nerfworld/

Thanks to Spanky for hosting it. You can find further information on my newspost on the site itself.

I apologize to everyone for having it down this long. I hope this makes up for it.

Sincerely,

Custom Painted "weathered" Nite Finder

28 June 2006 - 01:00 AM

All the standard mods have been done. The casing has been reduced in size. The gun was painted with silver, then flat black. Some of the black was carefully scraped up to give it a weathered, metallic look, revealing the silver underneath. The whole thing is clearcoated for protection.

The range isn't superb. It's better than stock, that's for sure, but it's not like my PETG'd Nite Finder. I made this for a display piece, so it's main value is cosmetic. I had it on my shelf for a year or so.

By the way, I have several Nite Finders, and I don't need this one. So, it is for sale. PM me if you're interested to make an offer.

Lock 'n Load Refinish

27 February 2006 - 11:43 PM

Hey, everybody. Haven't posted in a while. I'm honestly not into Nerf that much anymore, but the other day I stumbled upon my old Lock 'N Load, and I forgot how much I loved it. I made a dedication to fix it up, as it was in pretty bad condition cosmetically.

Here's what it looked like. Lots of scratches, nicks, paint wear. First, I ripped off the old, sticky electrical tape and sanded off the residue.

First, I cleaned it and gave it a new flat-black paint job. This time I used high-heat paint for better results. After it was all done, I sprayed it with semi-gloss clearcoat (something I didn't do before) to protect the finish.

Here's the final result. It probably needs one more coat of the clearcoat, but I think it's okay for now. I like the feeling of the coating better than the rough texture of spraypaint.

Image Posting Tutorial

10 June 2005 - 12:51 AM

I originally posted this on NerfHQ, but I think it would be helpful here as well. I realize that Spectre has already wrote a great general tutorial, but I thought this one would be more specific for those who like, well, pictures.
