In Topic: THIS one simple design will have you in TEARS...

Looking good! Looking forward to a smaller version. 12 inches for a pistol is too big for me. Also why not put the plunger/s in the handles (yes 2 if needed)? By making the plunger rectangular like the pocket strike.

This is the smallest it can go. Slug has been working hard on getting in pistol size, but the energy required to shoot nerf darts is actually quite high and thus requires a large plunger tube. It has to be even bigger considering it is not directly flowing and thus has some minor velocity loss. The whole point of this pistol was to make it mag fed through the handle so a jolt style blaster would not work + it would be jolt performance not nic-grade like the goal of this project was.

Very limited information on the website. Like the compatibility with nerf mags, we don't know if the internals are longshot internals you have to procure, or custom proprietary internals that aren't compatible with kits.
That mag release looks very much like Hasbro's, and I don't like it.
I also don't like the pump grip. Almost no support for the back of your hand means you have to grip it a lot harder and lack of piccitiny makes it impossible to swap to a vfg if that's your style.
All the criticism aside I like the aesthetics and internals look like they can pack a punch. I'm excited for it.

Aren't we *still* waiting for katana mags?

They are apparently for sale on their website.

In Topic: most "accurate" flywheel/cage setup?

04 July 2017 - 10:50 AM

Wow not sure if I can help much but I just learned a lot so I'd like to try and contribute. The hyper fire is extremely accurate and I believe this is partially due to the type of pusher it has it feeds everything uniformly and smoothly so that each dart hit's the same area as long as this is the same dart type. The mechanics of the hyper fire are great in my opinion I need is one of my favorite if not my favorite blaster hopefully this information can help you with your " Accuracy " situation

Is their any testing against other flywheel blasters?
More importantly, this is asking for aftermarket cage-flywheels and therefore will see use in modded blasters. While great stock form, the hyperfire's canted cage is terrible when modded. The pusher is even worse with no cycle control.

My opinion is that cage and flywheels can't really effect accuracy,(edit: almost all quality stuff give similar results) so get a ofp cage, hellcats, and worker/artifact plastic. This gives highest fps possible*, and with waffle-tips, is accurate too.

1. I don't know much about brushless motors, but they are infinitely more complex and require ecs and other fancy electronics to work. They are also a different shape and lots more torque so cages are custom made for them.
2. Flywheels don't matter as much as the cage, motors and battery. Holligan wheels, worker plastic, and artifact plastic work best.

If you have setup correctly, you are running a 2s lipo with meishel motors. I would recommend a medium crush OpenFlywheelProject cage with worker or artifact plastic wheels. Don't get a high crush cage or metal flywheels as meishels, while more than most 130s, don't have enough torque.

I came here to remind everyone that strayvens are nasty creatures of destruction. Every time one is made, a litter of puppies die. Do you want that blood on your hands?
Needless to say hawki007 should sell a lot more clear rayven parts.
