I would recommend going into a hardware store with the plunger head and looking for one that fits on the plunger head and is smaller than the o ring.

Try looking in ace hardware or similar stores. Thats where I usually get mine.

I generally do swirl dips and for that use I would recommend Testors oil-based enamel paints, they apply well and don't chip easily.
