You should be fine just rewiring the leads that go to the battery. You should be just fine removing the board and soldering the leads directly across.

Yeah it is perfectly safe to remove that, as long as you rewire your blaster with 16 or 18 gauge wiring. If your constantly reving your motors for 10 minutes then u might have a problem... If your using any amount of voltage above 6 volts then your motors and wiring might start to heat up, worst case scenario your motors will burn out.

Remove that, it doesnt really serve a purpose as to limit your voltage and cause more resistance.

My first overhaul was on an OG blue stryfe. I put a DRS fwc in it along with, MTB Wolverines, a complete rewire, an Omron microswitch, and a 2s lipo. That thing sounded beastly.
