Bayonetta-inspired Vagabond (paint question)

18 January 2016 - 05:42 PM

Hello,

I'm working on paint job for a Vagabond inspired by the Onyx Roses shotguns from Bayonetta.

Basically, inspired by this:

I'd like to turn my Vagabond into something like this:

(Not a great pic, sorry)

I was considering using a satin black spray paint for the barrel, but I'm worried that it'll end up looking fake-y. Normally I would just do some dry-brushing to weather it but, and here's where I get nit-picky, I feel like looking weathered, distressed, or otherwise banged up would go against the "character" of the gun.

Does anyone know a good way to get a nice, "clean" black metallic finish on something like this? Or am I totally overthinking the whole thing, and should just go buy a can of Rustoleum metallic black?
Either way, thanks for reading.
