In Topic: How to buy parts for Vulcan mods?

18 March 2016 - 06:29 PM

As some one who is a die hard vulcan lover and have modded and tinkered with one before let me give you some advise. The insides look scary but you do not really need to mess with that much for a motor replacement and for a spring replacement video watch (). For a motor I found that the Horizon Dynamite tazer 380 motor fits the best (http://www.amazon.co...r/dp/B00FC872HO), it does stick out of the motor housing so I have wrapped some e-tape around it to hold it in place, most hobby stores sell other similar brushed or brush-less motors the key is the size which 380 can size work the best and handle higher voltages. For a spring Blastersmiths UK sells a 5 kilo upgrade spring for about 6 British pounds ( https://blastersmith...sh-triad-spring), although I do not know how long the vulcan gears will hold up to it so for my personal vulcan I just run it with a better motor and a upgraded voltage. If you had the ability to reproduce the vulcan gear system in a harder material like aluminum then I would get the upgrade spring or if you are want to risk it. I do believe that the hammershot spring fits in but I have yet to test that but i assume that it is less than 5 kilo and would work better in the vulcan. DO NOT mess with the air seal on the vulcan. re grease it and that is it, with a better air seal the plunger tube can not retract unless you upgrade the spring that retraces the plunger which I have yet to find a spring small enough and powerful enough to do that.

TL:DR motor 308 can size, a hammershot might fit, don't upgrade to the Blastersmith spring  if you cant get better gears or if you just want to risk it you could, Do not mess with the air seal and you could take out the AR but pad the plunger head.

Best of luck to you and your vulcan modding adventure.
