Hi Tycho,
I'm Juan, you can order springs and other upgrades from blasterparts.de . They're a friendly bunch who can advise you personally if you happen to have any questions.
Orangemodworks also deliver in the Netherlands but customs tend to be a pain lately.
Good luck!
Kind regards,
Juan

Nice old school trick, those are usually the best. I learned to use WD-40, which also seems to work. But it leaves this fishy smell all over the place.

This was my first ever Nerf blaster, my wife bought it for me. Little did she know...
Replaced the spring and the o-ring with Orangemodworks ones.
Removed the outer hull of the barrel, but then the seal would be non-existent because it actually relies on the screws holding everything together. So I thought I was smart by super glueing everything together. Which also glued the air restrictors tight. So I was forced to drill them out.
I'm still thinking of including some blinking LEDs, activated by a micro switch near the trigger.

Two Mavericks I painted recently.
This first one is for my youngest, he wanted something with green and blue. And skulls. And red, too.
I used green Hammerite and metallic blue spray paint which gave me the desired effect.
And skull tattoos, of course. I guess he still has a skull phase...

And my daughter wanted a Rebelle look for her Maverick. With a Hello Kitty zombie decal.
So I found this lilac spraypaint in my shed that was at least ten years old, left there by the previous owners of the house. And it was perfect!
She then wanted some gold too. So I obliged with that one.
I bought some 'print-it-yourself' decal paper, but it's very difficult to make a large decal that will look good. Especially the Rebelle type swirls caught a lot of bubbles underneath, so I abandoned the idea rather quick. Smaller decals went okay'ish.

This was the very first paintjob I attempted to make for my kids. Used a Reflex as we had a couple of those lying around and if I messed it up it would not have been a great loss.

I used one of those temporary water-based tattoo things as a decal, since my youngest had a 'skull-phase' back then.
