This is my pride and joy. I did this back in September, and I saw that a month or so ago someone else did a full maglite combo with the Nite Finder, but I still just love this and I thought I'd share it with you.

The problem with this mod (the only problem) is that it's expensive. You need your own laser pointer that you're willing to hack up to make it in to a Nerf gun. Once that hurdle's passed, though, it's a simple matter of removing the old flashlight and soldering leads on to the (former) battery contacts for the laser pointer, and in to the contacts for the Nite Finder. The result is so, so worth it.

I've found that the accuracy remains slightly questionable, but that's simply not the point. It's just so cool...

I have purchased and modded two of the "Secret Strike" palm-sized airjet blasters. They're really amazing; even just modded so they can use Stefans they have an amazing range. Excellent hold-out blasters. There's only one problem: in combat, I'm already carrying two Mavericks and an extra chamber to slap in to the Maverick when I'm out of darts (gotta love the clip mod). So...

Where the hell do I put these Secret Strikes, or how do I use them, for maximum effect? I'm posting in the Mods forum because I am thinking of a couple of solutions:
1. Attach the SSs to each other for one still pocket-sized, but double-shot Nerf weapon that could still be carried around easily.
2. Integrated the SSs in to an existing gun. Mavericks have a handy "tactical rail"...

Any thoughts? I'm very curious to see if any one of you has come up with a good idea on how to use these

Hey, I've noticed a large problem with the Secret Shot 2. Although it is extremely powerful when modded, it's useless in battle because the valve leaks and can't hold pressure.

That's not my problem exclusively; a friend of mine with an unmodded version leaks pressure in the same way. The repeated pumping just to maintain a shootable pressure is ridiculous.

Is there a way around this problem?

Thought I'd share this modification to the Secret Shot 2 that I did over the winter break. A lot of the barrel modification is from this site by Silastic Armorfiend, which is a GREAT SITE, but where he adds a second PVC barrel swung-down and triggered by the second trigger (like the original wimpy barrel), I choose to obliterate the second barrel altogether.

Instead, you know that little arm that releases the second barrel (if you dismantle the SS2, you know what I mean)? I cannibalized its spring, and glued it between a part of the second-trigger assembly and the valve assembly, allowing the second trigger to be pulled and spring back in to place.

Then, I put a solder point on the trigger assembly and a solder point on the valve assembly in such a fashion that when the second trigger is pulled, the points touch (obviously!). Then I extended wires from those solder points to a battery case (below the ammo holders, see picture) and to a cannibalized laser pointer in such a fashion that the second trigger, when touched, fires the pointer. It's AWESOME, and it works well.

Fairly basic mod, actually, too. This was my first. Ever. I hope you enjoy this mod. And remember, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery ^^

EDIT:
In combat, this gun leaves a lot to be desired. Its re-load time is abyssmal, like most pump-action, single-shot guns. Further, since I plugged the plunger holes (per Silastic again) to allow a longer effective pump sequence, I've started to blow out the plastic pipes connecting the pump to the valve. Per a friend's suggestions, I'm going to look in to replacing the wimpy plastic tube with braided, paintball-quality plastic tube that sure as hell won't blow out. Add some superglue, and the Secret Shot 2 will be active once more.

Despite these flaws, though, this gun is WORTH IT. Its range is simply ridiculous in a gun its size, especially with micro Stefan darts, and given its reload time, it's best to treat it as a "hand cannon" or light artillery. It won't get you out of a tight bind in combat, but it'll hit anything you point it at.

Hey all, I'm new to the forum, but have been working on modifying a Maverick with one of my friends.

We've already done the basic restrictor removal - as one member noted, all you have to do is pull the turret apart (I know it's counterintuitive, and seems like you'd break it, but you won't), and the restrictor pins fall out like the Rapid Fire 20. To avoid using foam, we snipper the pins and put the basic restrictor disks back in. Works like a charm, and loads micro Stefans beautifully.

I want to do more, though. Here are two things I have thought of:
1. The gun resists rubber-banding, since the cocking mechanism covers the actual hammer. Has anyone tried removing the cocking handle, and banding the hammer through its little guide slots? Does it work well? I've tried to band this gun internally; it fails miserably!
2. Has anyone ever considered replacing the spring with something more...well...deadly!? Its basic spring is pretty wimpy (although the gun rocks in every other way). Would another gun's equally-sized spring replace it for more power? I tried to use the Nite Finder's HUGE spring. Massive failure, it was worse than Bush experimenting with pretzels.

Any advice?

Edit: Yes I know some of you have said you've tried to replace the whole cocking mechanism, and other things, but I haven't heard much specifics. Help!
