The pin where you are talking about is a friction seal pin, it is not really made to come out. You can drill the head off of the pin, but then you will not be able to use the pin to hold the barrel tip in place. This pin used to be a screw in earlier models from what I've read, but has been changed. If you do decide to drill the pin out, be very careful as if you drill too far or are at an angle you can seriously mess up the barrels or you could destroy the plastic that would hold the tip in place.
