Can also use 1N4001, it's a silicon diode designed for power supplies.
Voltage drop will be approx 0.7V

Anyway (regardless of part number) if it is a silicon rectification diode, the voltage drop will be approx 0.7 V. Just need to choose one that can take the intended amps.
And you can parallel them up to increase the amps if you so desire.

People have done with with 1/4" jacks, but I don't recommend it.
It's better to use something made for connecting batteries, like a Deans connector. It's an RC standard for high drain devices.

The 9V has poor current supply so this is probably fine. It probably cannot discharge enough current, nor do the motors demand that much at 9v.

I agree with this, 1/4 inch, 3.5mm, 2.5mm jacks are for audio applications.
As one inserts the jack, then there is a high reality that the tip and ring are briefly shorted by the internals of the socket.
You may get away wiih this for normal alkaline cells, but Lipo's and Trustfires will not be so forgiving.

Also, a live power source should be a female connector, so the terminals are not exposed.

Use connectors that are designed for connecting power sources.

The bolt-sled would be a good start, and please don't forget the nub as well since it is also under a lot of stress and breaks

Yes the community need a supplier for a strong longshot boltsled.

We also need a supply of the piece that goes into the boltsled, and is glued onto the breech (for the case of a brass breech longshot).

Iwould be glad to buy if these were made available at a reasonable cost.

Would you ship to Asia, lots of modded longshots here.
