Does Anyone Have Internal Pictures Of This?

10 July 2009 - 09:26 PM

I think I saw a post in the archives regarding this gun but it was more of a "have you seen this" type thing.

http://www.amazon.co...s/dp/B002DDZ94E

That gun has the same type set up as a tradition crossbow, where in the barrel is above the plane of the plunger, but the plunger is cocked the opposite way, (i.e away from the user, not towards)

So, does anyone know if it can be fixed for a lack of a better word.

Longshot Simple Brass Breech

15 February 2008 - 12:34 AM

Ok, inspired by angels breech, I set out to make a breech of my own, that was brass. It's complete, and..... not exactly working.....

Pics soon to follow, but basically, it's a single piece of 17/32 brass that runs the full length, from the front of the plunger, to the front of the gun. it has the hole cut in it for the darts to enter the breech, and the old LS breech, (the orange one) has been dremeled to fit around the brass. this way, the brass is stationary, and when the breech is actuated, it lets in the dart, and then seals around the brass.

The problem is, when the trigger is pulled, no dart exits the barrel. i think there's a tight spot in the brass somewhere... ot something....

Any ideas?

Who Wants Some Recon Rebuild?

It's a bit BETA at the moment, but I will provide pictures and a short description.

The back half (obviously) is a nitefinder, the front is a Recon. The internals have taken me a week to re-work, and they're still about 1/4 inch off, but I'll fix that tomorrow. The spring in it is about half of an AR-15 spring, and it works quite well. I still need to fix the internals, and then finish the bondo-ing to make it look nice, sand and paint.

Let me know what you guys think, and if you want a write up.

Cliped Bbb Isues

18 January 2008 - 04:03 AM

This question goes mainly to FA24, but also to the rest of the Haven.

In an attempt to clip a BBB, I have run into two issues. The first Is the method by which to connect the metal rod to the breech, and second, even at full draw, the BBB does not move far enough to completely close the breech. I need it to be able to use regular darts, and if at all possible to use an LS clip. This is because for the wars the BBB will be used in, no stefans allowed.

To illustrate, I have pics.

Breech in the open position and front of gun.

Close up. You can see the open breech, the reciever and the slot where the "bolt" should connect. Also, you can see the metal rod.

View through the bolt slot, breech open. (sorry, very blurry.)

The breech was constructed out of 19/32 brass, 17/32 brass, and part of the faux barrel from a LS.

Please help me solve the problem, as I badly want this to work.

Recon Idea

01 January 2008 - 11:56 PM

I was thinking, Since there's no easy way to upgrade the Recon spring, or even double spring it, would it be possible to use two expansion springs to simulate the same effect as banding? I was thinking you could anchor the springs to the two halves (one per half) and then to the outer tube. I THINK (please don't quote me on this, I'm almost certain I'm wrong on the numbers), that a Handyman 9717 would work (again, I THINK that one is an expansion, but I'm probably wrong)

What do you guys think? I'd check it myself, and I'd like to be the first to do it, but I don't get back to school until the 13'th, and I have all my good stuff there, not here.
