Halfway Questions For The Ls

I pulled my gun apart and put all the pieces in the box. On reconstruction, I had trouble picking the difference between two springs. The lock spring in the front gun that holds it in place when attached to the main gun, and the spring for the clip lock. Both are very similar but one is much easier to compress. Does anyone know which is which?
A lot of people have made "silencers" for the LS. Some of these use the attachment piece on the front gun but do not have the lock (mentioned above), on the silencer. Does that make the silencer attachment loose and easy to fall off?
Does anyone know a way to open the scope without cutting through the centre of the yellow caps?
How does everyone join the springs in the clips together? They seem to join them with the top end joined to the top end of the other spring. This means the bottom of the spring will still be placed around the screw hole at the bottom of the high capacity magazine, but the other end of the combined spring is the bottom of the other spring which doesn't fit in the follower. Has anyone joined them up the right way?
These will do for now.
P.S, this is my first post (since changing users from Assaulted by Longshot due to email problems).

I'm halfway through modifying my first Nerf gun and i need a few quick questions answered;

You had an account in the past, you should have searched before posting this topic. I'm sure some of the questions could have been answered if you had looked first. In fact, nearly all of them have been answered in just about every LS topic, especially the pinned one at the top of the forum.
I don't mean to be a dick, but you just stated that you have an older account, so you should know the rules.
Search all the posts first, then if your question still isn't answered, ask. It may be tedious and take quite a bit of time, but it saves on the posting of useless topics that just clog the forums and push more important forums off the front page.
By the way, just because this is your first post with your new username doesn't mean anyone will cut you a break. Even if this was a new account alltogether for you, if you read the CoC and all relevant pinned topics, whcih are the responsibilities of a new user, no one will cut you any slack for not following the rules.
I will answer one question for you though. Go and look at the topic about Longshot Mag Combination to answer the clip question. You have seen this topic before since I found the link through the posts of your last account.

Secondly, CaptainSlug's image of the joined springs is exactly what I was talking about with half up-side-down. From what I can see, this wont fit very easily in the clip without me cutting the clip a bit.
Thanks for the help with the scope. It was what I assumed but wanted to make sure.
And finally, this is like my, I don't know ... third post maybe? If you want to criticise someone, go find someone worth your time, (yes, I didn't put a capital "i" on my first post).

To attach the barrel of the front gun to the nozzle of the main gun there are several ways, mine was attached by a 3/4" pvc coupler, some have tried filling the gap between the nozzle and the barrel with epoxy/hotglue/E-tape/etc.
I too wondered about CS's double clip mod, so I tested out attaching BOTH ENDS of the springs to the middle (Short,Big,Big,Short, and Big,Short,Short,Big), and there was a difference in performance. The way CS showed is actually the better way (I'm sure he tried both ways as well, and came to the same conclusion)
You don't need to worry about how the big end of the spring wont fit in that spot designed to fit the short side, it will work fine.
Hope that helps.

So what your saying b00m13, is that it doesn't matter about the short part of the spring fitting snugly into the designated spot in the follower? Do you think that joining it right on the end would make it too powerful and wreck the darts?
In other words, instead of \/\|\/\ (with the "|" being the short ends), would \/|\|/\ (overlapping so that the short ends are loose) be better because it is shorter?
Thanks for the scope and springs help. b00m13, is your silencer removable? I don't quite understand. If it helps, I'm using complete stock barrel at the moment.

This post is sort of a semi-bump but not even really. Not bad Aussie language there, eh? I guess everyone is asleep in America.

That is the only arraingement I could get to work reliably. You can bolt the two springs together using #8 washers, #6-32 screws, and #6-32 hex nuts. Putting loctite or someother epoxy on the screws helps to keep them from loosening over time. If you put them together correctly the spring should still be capable of flexing at the junctions where the screws and washers are.

I found that my suggestion of removing one "valley" on the combined spring (moving the spring on the right, to the left until it is join-able) is just too short. I will still fiddle around a bit with it when it comes to joining the clips. By the way, I have found a way to make a high capacity "banana" ( I'm not sure what they are called,) type magazine like on the M16's and some M4's (but not as much AK's). Does anyone know the name of these magazines and can PM me?
I guess that's all my questions asked. Thanks to all, (even badger) for your excellent replies.
