Be more specific. What was the length of the PETG? how far did you stick the barrel down? Does the PETG fit your darts? Untill people know this kinda stuff they can't answer your questions.

well i didnt stick it down all the way yet. i tried and fired it didnt work. The petg fits my darts perfectly. It was about 3 inches of petg. Without the petg the arrows still dont fire so that wasnt the problem. is there something import in the first inch of the barrel?

If all you did was cut the tip of the barrel off, then (Jamie hyneman's voice) there's your problem.
You have to open up the front section of the gun (10 screws), and remove the peg (White toothpick object) and the spring, leave the circle shaped object inside in it's original position, then re-assemble and it should work.

PS, cutting the tip of the barrel off wasn't needed, if you had opened up the gun, and remove the AR from the inside. Then just sand the 4 nubs located at the tip of the barrel with some sanding/carving tool.

If you want to do a simple mod for it, grab a paper clip and a crayola marker barrel.
Unfold the paper clip into a straight piece of wire.
Place it at the end of the skinnier side of the crayola barrel.
Position the wire as if it were the diameter of the circle barrel.
Bend the excess wire that's sticking out the sides of the barrel, until it runs along the side of the crayola barrel.
Shove the crayola barrel into the BBB's barrel.

The paper clip will act as a catch, to prevent bullets from falling into the plunger, no glue is required, as the wire on the sides (Between the layers of the 2 barrels, will hold everything together).

That and the spring behind it (small weak lil spring that's between it and the circle object).

I'm just going to say that I went straight to the mod directory and pulled out the first BBB mod write-up.

http://nerfhaven.com...showtopic=5193

That specifically tells you how the remove the air restrictor with photos of what it looks like.

HMMM, let's see. The angel-bow also tells you how to remove the air restrictor.

http://nerfhaven.com...?showtopic=6370

Oh look, the next write-up also tells you how to remove the air restrictor, along with photos of what it looks like.

http://nerfhaven.com...wtopic=8562&hl=

See, there's all these great mod write-ups that people make to help out people that mod guns. Now what I can't figure out is why posting a new topic for help is faster than reading the well-written write-ups that already exist.

In the future, make this page http://nerfhaven.com...?showtopic=7150 is easily accessible. Also, as a rule of thumb, ANYTHING that is inside your barrel that is not ammunition is most likely an air restrictor (or part of it), and should be removed. Leaving it in and wondering why the gun isn't shooting far should bring about a red flag in your mind.

As for the mod itself, you might want to try a longer barrel if you are using stefans. 3 inches of PETG sounds short for stefans. If you are using stock nerf darts and arrows, then 3 inches should be plenty.

And if you want to get technical, I tried modifing a BBB, It failed miserably, (Doesn't shoot arrows now, micros 40') and I reviewed all of the BBB mods afterwards, and nothing that provides any indication of why it didn't work.

So your suggestion of searching through the topics likely doesn't fix this problem.

AJAQ, do this mod right here, and I'll bet you anything you'll get ateast 55-60'.

Cut down stock barrel, so you can slip a 1/2" PVC coupler on it. The end of the stock barrel should be cut down, so it is located in the middle of the coupler. Glue the coupler in.

Now Nest PETG or brass or whatever into 1/2" PVC. The barrel should be about 6-7".

You're done.

I drilled a hole in the AR but that shouldn't make too much of a differnce.

I'm kind of in the same situation as AJAQ here. My darts really don't shoot past 40' and I'm using 8" of 17/32" brass (fits quite nicely too). The air seal is great and I can stop the plunger just by putting my finger in the barrel, so I don't know what going wrong.

Nested PETG, AR removal, PVC spacer, and handyman spring.

And it doesn't work

Hey AJAQ, write up every step you took with your BBB mod.
Maybe some of us can help figure out the problem, and some internal screenshots would help too.

Ex.

My step by step.

Open frontal BBB Case (10 screws)
Pull out barrel.
Removes spring and Peg located inside barrel.
Put BBB Frontal case back on.
Used a rotary tool to sand down the 4 nubs located at the tip of the barrel.
Took a paper clip and placed it into the end of a crayola barrel (See pic above for reference).
Shoved the Crayola barrel into BBB Barrel.
Finished.
Test fired.
Now it's one of my favorite distance shooters.
Will leave it alone, until I get the materials to do Angel's breech/mag mod.
