When I reinforced my crossbows plunger rod with metal rods and plumbers goop... theres friction created because of it, it seems like its catching a little bit while i cock it. How much of a difference do you think this makes?

Mine does the same thing... it shouldn't make too much of a difference.
If you're really worried about it, shave some of the rods down. Are they sticking out past the plunger shaft?
