OK, so I decided to mod my Nitefinder, even though to me, it wasn't half bad out of the box. I just wanted to mod it. So i opened it up, and took out the AR. Then I got rid of the little orange barrel that it came with. So I took a five eight's (or whatever it is, i was using a crappy ruler) piece of copper tubing, about 5 and a half inches long and used it as my barrel. First I had to sand down the insides of the blue plastic where the old barrel was, to make it fit. Then I first hot glued it to the piece of plastic separating the barrel from the plunger, and set it in the gun, glued it all up, and closed it. There's no air escaping (at least from around the seal from plunder to barrel), but it fires 10-15 feet. So then i had to put some Electrical tape on the inside end of the barrel, and I just stick one of my stefans (1/2 in diameter) in the barrel, just barely sticking out. This helps some, but it's still not very good. Does anyone know what's wrong? Or have a suggestion to make it better?

Maybe I need a smaller barrel.

Well, in my experience, brass works a heck of a lot better than coper. I use a 9/16" 4" barrel and it works marvelously.

The diameter of your barrel is too big. For a Nitefinder, you want a barrel that fits your darts a little tight. That way pressure can build up behind it, resulting in greater power.
Bring one of your Stefans to a place and find a material that fits your darts well. Brass is commonly used, but it isn't so easy to find.

This was my first try at modding too. I drilled out the ARs on my firefly, then just left it. I'll be getting some springs for my guns, and maybe a BBB in a week or two.

Your ID of your barrel is way to big for stefans the size your using. Try using 1/2 CPVC. I've modded 50+ NF's using it and works wonders.

PVC is also too big for 1/2 in stefans.

I also learned that 1\2 pvc is too big, but just cut the verry tip off of a crayola marker and put it in the barrel.
