What the fuck have I done?

8)

Even though all the locals know this already: Pilz and I should be there, and hopefully we'll swing rallying an actual camera crew for this year. Also I will have my laptop, a card reader and a big external hard drive so I can collect photos/video from people on the spot as we Wrap Up this time, this will keep me from spending roughly a month chasing down footage to put this year's video together. Also I'll throw this out there, if any of you are in bands/know people in bands/etc... I'd love to use audio that won't get content flagged and thus blocked on mobile and some countries this time around.

This sounds like good foresight. Thanks, Bags!

The war is for reals, and in a month in a half. I have updated the first post with information, including blaster stuff. If you have questions, ask them here or via PM or whatever.

I also just noticed how blatantly Beaver lied in the beginning of this thread. He's not going to be there.

I'll probably be there, put me under the Tentative Attendance list as Basic Nerf.

Whether I go or not, I'll probably have 5-7 others go as well.

BTW What are the rules on Zing Ammo? Are the "big ammo" aka one shot kills?

I live about an hour away so I'll make every effort to come. I'll probably be bringing along 1-2 friends as well.

Do we bring our own ammo? All my guns right now are stock (though I'll be modding a few to take slugs) and I want to know whether I should order more darts for myself.

I'm definitely confirmed, currently with +4 in my carpool but +5 is more likely.

Good numbers.

Big ammo is allowed; Zing stuff is fine. It will count for as many hits as any other allowed dart, but in any Offend the Core gametypes, it will count for more points in the core.

I live about an hour away so I'll make every effort to come. I'll probably be bringing along 1-2 friends as well.

Please bring your own ammo. People will have extra and there are old darts in assorted community buckets floating around, but there is no way this war can be sustained through just that.

Put me down as a maybe. I live about 2 and a half hours from there, so I'll do want I can to get my parents to drive me there. I might have missed this, but as far as I can tell, there is no set time that the war is starting. Is there a set time that the war will start?
Lastly, this might be a noobish question, but how do most people carry darts In the field? Maybe pockets or dart pouches?
EDIT: Will I need to bring a pistol/sidearm?

I edited in the timing. Thank you for reminding me. As a note for everyone, don't worry about arriving late; 9:00 is a good time to aim for because, especially at large wars like this, people love to talk and whatever before we really get going. The first round probably won't start until 9:30 or 9:45 or so anyways.

I use a mesh dart bag, from the Dart Tag sets. People use pockets, or fanny packs, or whatever is convenient.

You will not be required to have a sidearm for any round. You can bring one if you want.

UPDATE! I AM ABUSING TEXT STYLES BECAUSE I AM A MODERATOR AND THIS IS IMPORTANT.

DUE TO THE TIRELESS EFFORTS OF BAGS AND APOLLO, WE HAVE FOUND A SUPERIOR LOCATION TO HOST ARMAGEDDON.

THE NEW LOCATION IS:

STANTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
725 S VENCINO DR
GLENDORA, CA 91740

This new location is less than two miles from the previous war site, so it is not a major change. It is closer to restaurants and other sites. It is more sheltered from the streets, so we are less likely to be seen and therefore less likely to be seen as nuisances. I have updated the original post with this information.

If anything happens the day of the war, PLEASE CHECK THIS THREAD, OR THE NERFHAVEN TWITTER/FACEBOOK. We will update with any changes we make with new posts so if something is off (you arrive late and we are not where we said we were), check here.

This war is looking like it'll have a lot of people, perhaps even more then usual. What's the usual amount of people that attend Armageddon? And what's the record for an Armageddon War?

It was obvious, but thank you.

In the past few years it has been at least thirty consistently, and up to about forty-five (that's my estimate, off-hand, without looking at group photos or anything). I believe the largest was probably Armageddon X, which had upwards of 70 people. We will probably not beat that.

Zorn was kind enough to purchase some stuff for the war. It looks like we will have nametagging supplies, if you're into that kind of thing.

There is a 69% chance that I will be there.

This would be my first Nerf war since Armageddon X in 2009. Jesus Christ has it really been 15 years since I completely pwned Vacc the entire first Armageddon? I'm getting too old for this shit. Hopefully I can still shoot straight.

Looking forward to hopefully seeing some old faces and meeting throngs of sweaty teenagers who probably have no clue who I am or why I deserve their subservience.

Thanks to Langley for tracking me down. Hot damn, you all have been busy little beavers.

I will be bringing a couple of friends, but I'm afraid some of are blasters might not be up to par with most of ones you guys are bringing so would one of you guys pm about some tips On what type of blasters we should bring so we don't get destroyed by the vets that are going to be there. Can't wait to be there and thanks ahead of time.

We'll be glad to have you. Don't worry about blasters too much; I've seen many people perform admirably with near-stock or even stock blasters. It's even easier at large wars like this because the dudes with pump action forty shot hopper homemades will be focusing on the other people with the same blasters. You'll probably also be able to borrow some stuff if you ask people nicely.

I haven't been active since about 2010 or 2011 I believe, so excuse me if this question has an obvious answer. I know there has been some changes regarding dart regulations. The stefans I still have are weighted with a single copper bb and padded with a 3/8" felt tip, no exposed metal. Are these still fine? Just want to confirm.

Anyway, I'm still a maybe at this point (tentative family plans may cause a conflict), but I'm very much looking forward to this. If I don't end up being able to go I'll definitely be at any later SoCal wars this summer.

If you could send me some pictures via PM or something, that would be ideal. I would prefer to have more of the dart covered; I understand that's a bit of a tall order on a week's notice. If you were so inclined, you could try putting 1/2" felt pads from McMaster over the existent tips. Again, just send me a picture and I'll let you know.

Less than a week until the war! Remember to get your questions to me sooner rather than later. Bring lots of water and sunscreen.

NOTE TO EVERYONE: CHECK THIS THREAD AND THE OFFICIAL NERFHAVEN TWITTER THE DAY OF THE WAR FOR ANY UPDATES OR INFORMATION.

This is also a reminder to bring plenty of water. You should also bring sunscreen, and eye protection. You can get great polarized shades at Rite Aid for ten dollars; there is no excuse.

In addition, if you are not registered on NH and interested in attending, that is totally fine. This is an open event and anyone with interest can come. There is a Facebook event for the war as well. Again, all are welcome, provided that you follow the rules.

One last thing: I want to be absolutely clear on this. Do not shoot people not participating in the war. Don't shoot people sitting on the sidelines, don't shoot people between rounds, and ESPECIALLY, ABSOLUTELY DO NOT SHOOT PEOPLE NOT ATTENDING THE WAR. This falls under the "Don't Be A Dick" decree. Take heed.

Holy poop, it's this weekend? This really snuck up on me. Hmmm.

Yeah, it's coming up.

Will there be a "horribles" game mode? aka everyone has to use crappy blasters. Just need to know if I need to bring a bad blaster or not.

We will absolutely not be playing anything that requires a bad blaster.
