I traded a Nitefinder with my friend for this funny gun called the range shot. The date sais that it is from 1997, a classic. It has an adjustable barrel that can go up or down. It has a funny way to cock it too, the handle thing is on the front. It is a fun gun but it has not so good ranges ;) . I did a brass barrel replacement.

Haha, brass barrel on a Rangeshot? Can you post some pictures where I can see it? Or is it in the pictures you posted already?

That was a very bad trade. You should have kept your NF. It's my favourite gun.

Classic gun, perhaps. Good and worth using? not really. Somewhat pointless post? I think so. Wise trade? Ehh - I'm going to go out on a limb here and say not so much.

You posted this under modifications and pretty much just explained the gun and added the fact that you put a brass barrel in it. Ranges and photos after the modification are pretty important.

I would say it is a good trade as those are hard to come by nowadays.
I think the gun is kinda pointless though because If I wanted my gun to shoot upwards, I would simply aim it higher.

I don't get my kicks out of you,
I don't feel the way I used to do.
I know its bad,
After what we had,
But I’m just not the angel you knew.

Useful? Probably not. Cool? Sure. It's not like NFs are that expensive.

Yeah, I think it was a horrible trade!!

Nitefinders are a whopping $5.76 right now.

:P

I'm always a sucker for "classic" guns.

The question is... can you still call it a "flat shot" when you range test it? Hehehe...

I like old things so I would personaly call it a good trade but that is me.

I mod nerf guns so they look good. So leave my scopes, doodads, and trinkets alone I like them. I don't mind the weight and I started out that way on toy guns and its not going to change.

I agree, Nitefinders are better guns, but they're plentiful. Good trade, good find. Let us know how the modifications work out for you.

You can probably hurdle the crappy gun further than that. Throw the piece of shit out your window and go buy yourself another NF.

On the contrary, if you hook a camera up to it and actually videotape you killing a noob in a war, I think it would be hiliarious and humiliating.

I don't think gun-bashing is constructive here.

@butler, is there any chance you could take some photos that show off the mod on this gun? (i.e. show us more of the barrel in there and how it fits rather than the rear of the gun).

What size brass did you use? 17/32 or 9/16? Is it very tight on your foam? Pretty loose?

Im not so sure what size the brass is, but it is REALLY tight. When I opened it up, i realized that it has a fairly large plunger chamber, NF size. It also has a longer, stronger spring. The reason that it gets such crapola ranges is because the air has to go through a small tube, around a kink, and THEN push the dart out of the barrel. It gets better range with the barrel extended up only partly because it is pointing up, also because the tube isnt bent as much, so there is no kink, like if I have the barrel extended up but puting the barrel flat, it gets some remarkable ranges compared to the barrel not up. So if I maybe get a larger tube to connect the barrel to the plunger chamber, it could get possibly NF type ranges. OH and I am also using stock micros for these ranges. Stephens will get better, but I havn't had a good stephen to use in a while, I'll have to make some new ones. :) oh and sry but how do you put pictures directly on the post instead of putting a link? I tried and it said, that is invalid, then it had a example website that said, domain or something. :)

To slove the kink problem you could try running a spring around the tube like they do in the Magstrike and the RF20 near the pump handel that way there is somthing rigidto help keep the tubeing streight.
