What are some good mods for a Dart Tag Crossfire? I am new to Nerf, and want to improve upon my Crossfire. Are brass barrel or Stefan-firing mods possible? And what else could work? It fires great out of the box, but I saw Carrtoon's MavFinder and Boltsniper's, well, everything made by Boltsniper. And I got bitten by the mod bug. It itches.

There are quite a few, but for future reference you may want to try the modification directory for all of your mod write-up needs. It is located at the top of the modification forum, and is updated by Forsaken_Angel24 quite often. But to help out a new modder, here are some to get you started.

All of those are pretty good, and I hope you have fun modding.

Not to discourage you or anything but unless you seriously angle the dart into the wind, I don't think a CF is going to get 75'. Mine is brass modded and it gets NO MORE RANGE than 60 feet. Good luck with yours though. I hope it comes out good.

I was planning to mod my Crossfire, but real life took over and I didn't have a chance for the longest time. Then, I finally took it apart, but I stripped two of the screws and I had to dremel it out. Will it still work if two of the screws are not in?

One of them is on the handle - the dremel actually melted the screw tube - and the other is in the middle of the body.

EDIT -- Sorry about the revival. I forgot to check the dates.

It shouldn't affect it, you just need to be able to shut it.

By "Middle" I assume you mean outside, not inside. As in not attached to the cocking/shooting mechanism. As long as its on the outside, and you can get it closed; I dont see any problem that would affect your gun's performance.

You assumed correctly. Thanks for the advice, everybody! I'll be destroying the air restrictors shortly, and I've got some CPVC lying around just waiting to be rammed down the barrel.
