whenever I can get some sheets of pvc.
Mcmaster-Carr?
Noboby ever remembers...
The cheapest stuff I've found is "Clear Extruded Acrylic Sheet." Of course it is clear but if that really bothers you, spray paint it.
And no, it's not PVC, but it does serve the same purpose. They do have sheet PVC but the cheapest one is $12 or so whereas the acrylic is $3ish...
I know of mcmaster, but I have trouble shipping to my house. And because I've gotten on the topic of that, I'll elaborate.
I live, hypothetically, on 1 anyway dr. I also live about two miles away from another 1 anyway dr. my address is in the town of aville, and the other is in the city of beville. The problem, aville has the same zip code as beville. So, whenever I order something for delivery at
1 Anyway Dr.
aville, NY
10123
It gets sent, most of the time, to
1 Anyway Dr.
Beville, NY
10123
And the people at the other adress are jerks, so they keep the stuff I order.
Now that I'm done on that tangent, The way I'd be able to get sheets of whatever is ordering it through the local home depot or lowes, and I know that they both charge high prices for "shipping and handling", even when the delivery is being made to their own store. I am thinking of making the clips out of balsa, at least to get a working model. Then maybe buy sheets of whatever to make the clips.
I also don't know whether to make it gravity fed or spring operated. I like springs, but gravity fed would be easier. And either way, I'm making a breech and bolt. Any suggestions?
