This was one of my most favorite wars of the past few years. I can't remember the last time I dodged so consistently and often. Almost everything was acrobatic except for the ones I had to lay down for or slide under. I have plenty of highlights from this event but first I want to thank Cranky and THIRST for hosting our group at their home. That was so nice of you guys and saved me some cash, it was much appreciated.

Moments:

- Groove. The man put on a clinic for the new kids all day. When we were on opposite teams it was intense and enjoyable and when we were together it was a dodging demonstration for the ages.

- Shorty headshot. Rushing the guy across from me was a big mistake but really the only one I saw him make all day. I shot him with DarkRuxpin's air cannon Crossbow and that was that. It connected with his cheek, to the side of his sunglasses, from about 10 feet away.

- Papa Bear. I saw him at the last moment and turned by back and butt into a horseshoe-shape in order to get out of the way of his shot in one of the last rounds. Probably my best dodge of all day.

- Headshots. I saw plenty of them.

-Sourskittles baseball slide shot of the day. Running down the base of the hill and after Shorty, Skittles slid the rest of the way down and shot Shorty square in the back. Too cool.

- Pistol round. Wammy!

- Those grinding middle rounds. Most of those were so even that barely anyone did well as I recall. It was cool to see most of those rounds go down to the wire.

- Man down. I cracked my head the first round on that hill. I think it stunted my gracefulness for the day.

- Cracker Barrel! I'd never been to one before yesterday with the guys!

- Rushing alone and unaware. One round I thought my team was following me up the hill after a landed a few shots on the opposing team, but by the time I got to the top, I found that my team wasn't with me but the other team was. I got shot. I then set the new land-distance record for the patented east coast NiteFinder toss. I chucked it from the hill over the playground.

And some lesser points:

The new guys need to work on their field awareness. Nerf is not a 1 vs. 1 game. Its a 8 vs. 8 game. That means that at any given time the field is moving and changing as players maneuver accordingly. Be more than aware of the immediate threats to you, be aware of all of those on the field and make your teammates aware of them. I must have died a half dozen times yesterday because my teammates weren't any help when it came to letting me know who was around the corner or who was hiding where.

Slug, I have some of your darts in my bag. We were in a big enough rush to leave yesterday that I threw some pocket fulls into the pile but didn't remember to empty my cargo pocket on my shorts. I'm sure I'll see you soon. In the future I think you might also benefit from shooting more. You've got good range and your guns are all very accurate, you had all the elements you needed at DCNO you just needed to shoot more. When you have someone with you backing you up its not an issue if you have to reload the Titan.

DCNO reminded me of why I love this hobby.

Thanks guys.

I don't know what it is about the titan that makes me a coward. I was doing awesome with the Big Blast and "Bob".
"Bob" unfortunately has developed a leak on the body of the triple strike chamber so I may not be able to use it in that configuration again. But I DO have a plan on what I want to do for "Bob" Mk.2

Is was really funny how many times I managed to use poles as cover Yesterday.

I do need to work on what Evil said. I'm used to nerf being a small game with 2 on 2.

Also, the video is going to take, according to my calculations, 3 hours to upload. I'll give you all a link when it's done.

EDIT-My calculations were wrong. It's 3/4 of the way done and I'm pushing 6 hours. I'll let it finish up overnight and It'll be on sometime tommorow.

Shadow that is a great video! Probably the best we've had of any east coast event! Everyone fastforward to 2:15 on the video and watch my dodge - in slow motion! Seriously Shadow, you got some great stuff.

I really liked the part where you pick up the blue barricade and start using it as a shield...I'm at work so no sound for me on the video, but I can only hope it was filled with people yelling at you for being cheap in that part ;)

I did enjoy Hersh's runway-style walk in one part too.

Awesome.

I'm glad you got the part where Papa Bear rushed me. Looking back at the video it looks like I missed; the dart must have bounced off his shoulder. That's also the only part of the video where I don't look horribly awkward and scared. ;)

And of course, the end was priceless. I can't tell you how glad it makes me that someone got that on tape. Thank you.

Also, Steve's shot on Josh (I think) around 1:15 was amazing.

Good stuff man, you got some good footage. Thanks for taking time out to take video.

The war was awesome. Dean did a good job hosting the war. It was nice meeting so many new nerfers, and I hope that I see them again at future wars. It was also nice nerfing with the regular guys.

CrankTHIRST thankyou for allowing me to spend the night at your place even though it was pretty spartan in your basement.

I love how there are a thousand pictures of people just standing on the hill, and only one of me.

Also why would you get up on a table and tell dead baby jokes when there were four parents in earshot?

I want to thank everyone for showing up and giving their all. We had some very capable newcomers and I don't really have any notable complaints for how things went. Any mistakes that were made were owned up to fairly quickly and with little complaint. I look forward to hosting another war in the Fall/Winter. As well as seeing you all again at Apoc in August.

Also why would you get up on a table and tell dead baby jokes when there were four parents in earshot?

Because they're funny? Heck, LastManAlive's Dad told me one while I was sitting out later in the day. If you didn't find them funny, oh well.
If it wasn't already apparent that I'm weird then atleast now everyone knows for sure. Mission accomplished.

I was asked a billion questions by a bunch of different people. Papa Bear will be e-mailing me soon with a billion more questions and I'll hopefully get him to register here soon so he can ask everyone else a billion questions too.

Dead baby jokes aren't funny, period. It has nothing to do with your oddities either.

Don't misunderstand, I don't think a joke shouldn't be told just because I don't find it funny, but they just really aren't. Tell away if you must though.

Dead baby jokes don't have any place at our events, especially not when their are a considerable amount of new Nerfers at the event who have all been escorted to the field by their parents. We don't need invocations or brief speeches before we start, and the last thing we need are jokes about dead children. They weren't funny 5 years ago and they aren't funny or appropriate now - not with kids around as young as 4.

I'm willing to forget and forgive the incident but it shouldn't happen again.

I'm all for the joking around. Like Slug said, my Dad was cool with it. But with younger kids around I think it should have been a little more apparent NOT to say them. But oh well. The dead baby jokes weren't the highlight of the war. And Papa Bear obviously did not care too much to be asking Slug that many questions after the jokes.

It's a nerf war. We had people there of all ages nerfing with little toy guns the have been modified. What's wrong with a dead baby joke or two?

Pretty good footage, there were a few intense moments of combat in the day, and I'm glad some of it got captured. It's a shame none of my shots made it in there. There was quite a plethora of footage with Evil in it, though. When did this become an Evil Angel propaganda film?

I'm glad the Cobra Strike made its way in there. That's the official high-five for the team of East Coasters I'm leading out to Armageddon this year, so learn it now. I'm serious.

As far as the dead baby jokes are concerned, yeah, it might have been a faux pas; but taking into consideration the amount of foul language that was slung around by others, in the immediate vicinity of parents and/or younger kids, I seriously wouldn't consider it something to get worked up about.

What's more disgusting than a pile of 100 dead babies?

One that's still alive, on the bottom, eating its way out.

Okay, I'm done.

Thanks for all the compliments about the video. I used Evil a lot because a lot of the good shots in the video were of him. I'll make you a deal Groove, at the next war, teach OMC some more retarted, yet funny, hand shakes and I'll make an entire video of ridiculous handshakes, featuring Groove.

I also haven't seen a lot of other videos with Evil apparentlly visible in them, are there any with Evil?

Oh, and RAMBO, the song is Day of Daze by Atomship. Look them up, they have a few good songs.

Call the Cobra Strike ™ handshake "retarded" again, and the next time we meet I might just accidentally "miss" your hand and give you a Cobra Strike straight to your jugular vein.

The reason why you do not see Evil Angel in videos is because he never shows up to wars.
Also that crossbow called Spicket Johnson is one of the coolest crossbows I have ever seen.

If I read one more thread with the word WHAMMY! I'm going to lose my shit. It's not funny. Simple as that.

Anyway, as far as the war, I had a blast, even if I played like shit. My darts were not at all what I expected and that pretty much set the tone for the day.

Top moments:
- Headshot on Evil Angel as he dove in front of one of the blue barriers.
- Seeing the awesome Casa de CrankTHIRST. Really nice digs man. Thanks again for the hospitality.
- Tapping practically an entire team with CaptainSlug. I got two, took my last life and he got the last 2.
- Tally-Ho Pizza. That place got better by leaps and bounds and it didn't sit in my stomach.
- Taking down my fair share of players even with shit ass darts.
- The best moment of the day, our dinner at Cracker Barrel. Not because of the food, but because of that one sloppy lady and her awful 84lb breasts. Seriously, they started at her belly button. I IMMEDIATELY began to crack up upon seeing this yak of a human being and what made it funnier is that RAMBO thought we were laughing at his stupid joke.

Bottom moments:
- Having to make a poop for like 4 hours
- My darts sucking
- Dead Baby jokes. They are NOT funny, never were, never will be.
- Holy fuck, how could i forget. Probably the same way THIS happened. I forgot all my clothes and shoes in my bag back home. Thanks Dean for being my personal shopper pal and going out the morning of the war to help me get some things. That was a $120 mistake. Take my advice kids, don't forget your shit.

I think that about covers it. I liked the video, except there was not enough coverage of me. I should get my own half an hour dedicated feed. No real complaints though
