Quick update (just another incentive to get your sorry ass to the war, wherever you are...)

Cullen elementary has for years been home to a grid of four modular buildings.

TWO MORE have been added recently to the north side of the playing area. They are far narrower than the others, but they are there, and they will help expand the useful space that we have. There is also a large storage bin on the west side by the trees. There are very few things that could make it more perfect at this point in my opinion.

Just used MapQuest to check the distance from my house to Glendora, and found out that it is only about an hour and a half from where I live. Don't mark me down as definite, as I still may have plans on the 7th, but I'll be down there if I can.

Wow...I'd have to say that is some good incentive. I'm trying to work my schedule as best as I can for it to work out. Its gonna be hard, cause technically I can't take a day off for 6 monthes (I'm down to four monthes now).

Since I like to play favorable odds, I'll focus my efforts on making this year's Apocalypse better than any of the last, combined. Besides, the East Coast is far more hard core than the West.

Mmkay, folks, here we go.

Last year, Cullen was under construction. Apparently, it was preparatory work for this summer. I know, I know. Not cool. BUT there is a huge perk.

They're installing THREE full-sized permanent portables adjacent to our beloved grid, and they'll be there to stay; I spoke with the front office about it.

THIS year, however, construction's already begun, so we'll be elsewhere this one last time.

Yesterday was our Summer CAFF, and we played at the location where we met the morning of last year's Armageddon (but did not play). There is no construction going on there this year, and the location is still plenty awesome. There are two areas to play in, one made of larger brick school buildings, and one that is a mix of portables, grassy areas, and a LOT of rails and ramps, with a few staircases as well. It is somewhat of a multilevel wonderland which we've enjoyed using for quite some time.

The address is:

500 N. LORAINE AVE.
GLENDORA, CA 91741

For a visual idea of a little bit of the place, go look up the 'Geddon trailer or war video (which has the trailer in it). The location photos at the beginning are of this place.

When you arrive at the school, pull into the parking lot and park as far back as you possibly can, preferably close to the concrete stairs you'll see on the far left of the parking lot at the back.

For those of you familiar with the area already, you might note when you look it up on googlemaps for directions that it is all of a block away from Cullen Elementary. By no means a life-altering change. If you said you could go before, this WILL NOT affect whether or not you can come now.

If OMC/Groove/some admin. would alter the first post in the thread, I'd be very much obliged. In the week prior to the war, I'll be sending out a Generic PM to everyone who has posted in this thread stating an interest in coming, as well as a cell number in case there is a problem. There should be no issues in finding the location (or us, for that matter).

Also, again this year (for the locals) if you've got some spare large trash cans and/or card tables that you could bring along with you, that'd be great. We'll have a bunch, but it never hurts to have a few more. Along with that, if anyone happens to have an EZ-UP (those quick-folding picnic cover thingies) that'd probably be nice. There's shade, but we could probably use a little artificial shade too.

Wow, being and engineer stinks. I am taking a boat load of classes this summer, so I can't make it. I am going to college out there in 3.5-4 years and I am hosting a large local war out here so I should see some of you guys by the end of next year.

Oh, I'm sure you'll remind us of our place. Then again, it is kind-of hard to forget...how could ANYONE conceivably lose the knowledge that they live on the best coast, the west coast?

I'm all for an East vs. West round, but I'd really prefer even teams. There are two areas to play in at the school, and we could easily set the bulk going in a game in the larger, less intricate area, while we school you in the portables. I'm all for it.

On a less "typical post of an Armageddon thread" note, it's coming really fast. Looking forward to seeing you all again, plus some new faces. Check the thread often starting this next Sunday for this year's installment of my cheesy pump-up Armageddon trailer. All will be amazed.

This just in, the East Coast Nerf Coalition has replaced the nerfer, RAMBO, with the veteran NH administrator, The Infinite Shindig. The reaction was reportedly prompted by RAMBO's inability to trash-talk the West Coast nerfers.

Next up, The ECNC's flaming chariots driven by ninjas and pirates and pulled by zebras are being readied for war as Armageddon draws nigh.

Alright fellas, odds are none of you know me, but I'm going to make an (extremely half-assed) effort to get to this war. My plan consists of the following:

• Download Southwest's DING
• Keep it on for the next 17 days and hopefully get a plane ticket for 5 cents
• Steal Underpants
• ?
• Profit

If all goes according to plan, especially Phase II, I'll be there.


Edit: I just went on an emotional rollercoaster, being elated that we had a free party plane, and crestfallen when it fell through (which was obviously going to happen). So after browsing to the topic, is Ontario the best airport, assuming my plan works?

Armageddon is right around the corner, and I'm glad to see the blood feud between the two coasts is still going strong. I think this calls for a pre-war DbF comic/propaganda piece.

All our flights will be arriving around the same time, within 15 minutes of each other, in to Ontario Airport (ONT). Considering Deal is at the end of this month and Armageddon is a week away, I'm still unsure about how I'm going to be transporting my Nerf stuffs, but I'm sure I'll figure out something.


Tell you what, Falcon ~ why don't you go take some creepy and borderline voyeur-esque shots of your clanmates and friends again, while they're asleep, post them online, and we'll rest up in the safety and comfort of cx's place and we'll see you for some heterosexual Nerfing on Saturday, for Armageddon. Be sure to bring your A-game, and leave the creepy album of photographs you've probably accumulated by now at home.

Seriously, next stupid post I see by you will result in that custom title of yours disappearing, which by the way, I am not exactly sure what you did to deserve it. This is not to say that I have a problem with you in person, but you act like a complete moron on the forums who accumulated a lot of posts by making empty zings such as that.

EDIT: So Rambo's "WHAMMY!" post got deleted, thus negating my above comment. Oh well, my above comment still stands. Either that or I am completely seeing things and need to retire. I'm not sure which.
