After getting my high speed internet 2 days ago, I've been high on counter-strike. So far I've played Groove and Webbzter. I play usually on Pirate's Bloody Cove on GSA. Props to Groove for showing me GSA and a lot about the game. On GSA, my S/N is Mikesty, but inside CS, I go by GunnedDown. Anyone else play? Post your name and most often played server here. I've racked up many kills in my last few games. I think I have like 20 kills. I have a lot of death's though.

I used to play Half-Life and Counter-Strike, but I lost my serial code and now I can't play online.

I used to play under the name Da_Coffin_Man, but that was while I was visiting my cousin. I haven't had a chance to get it again yet, but I'm trying.

I go by Batman when I play. But I'm not reall good, due to the horrible connection out where I live. However, I have played on a high speed connection, and I killed...YOUR MOM! ...Not really...but it seemed necessary...Anyway, I mostly use GSA as well, and appear as DeathAngel777 on there. I play on any server that looks fun, especially cuz of my connection.

I hate Counterstrike with a passion, I don't really feel like going into why, but I'm absolutely addicted to Day of Defeat for HL. That and Tribes 2 eat up the vast majority of my game playing time, the rest being taken up by Battlefield 1942, Quake 3 (RA3/CPMA mods), and UT2003 (at lan parties only really). Day of Defeat I'm pretty good at most days, but I WILL kick your ass in Tribes 2, it wouldn't even be fair. I play as Spoon in any game online. These days I usually play a hour or so of Tribes 2 a night, usually at either the "=A= Hizzaus" or "5150" servers.

I installed Natural Selection like a month ago and STILL have not had time to play it. I've read the online manual and it looks awesome, is it really fun to play? I'm also worried about it's learning curve. It looks like it could have a learning curve almost as high as Tribes 2.

The only part that takes a lot of learning is the Commander mode, which is the least fun part, in my opinion. Learning the maps also makes you better, because at first you will just wander aimlessly around the gigantic maps.

Oh, yeah. I go by Confucious in most games.

CS rocks my world. Last time I checked, I was ranked 7 out of rougly 2,000 people that visit my server. I am, as GD can tell you, the Pump Shotty Masta'. I suck with most loser rifles, though. If you do play CS and want to play with me, GD, and all my friends from the PBC, look for it on GSA sometime. The main site is down now, so I can't give you the specific IP now, but I'll post it later if anyone still needs it. A few things you should know before you play on PBC...it's a clean server, so no excessive cursing or pr0n sprays, and FF is on, so check your fire. If you TK an admin, they...have plenty of commands to make your life miserable (I'm admin too, so don't get any ideas). And if you must be AFK...be forewarned, there are ninjas on our server that knife AFK'ers with no mercy. Beware.

Spoon, the shortest description I can give you of Natural-Selection is a first-person StarCraft with no Protoss. It's got some amazing textures and models, so you'll need a nice system and stable connection to run it. It's basically Aliens VS. Marines, and each side has their pros/cons. Marines can get equipped with some phat-ass weapons and Aliens evolve into critters of increasingly larger size and power, each with their own special powers. It's a great mod to play as a team, so you'll need a good team to do well. It does have somewhat of a learning curve, but what good games today don't? Ya' know? I spent 5 days playing it for a few hours each day and I got good enough to the point where I found my strengths and weaknesses. You'll learn fast, I'm sure. Take a few days and try it when you have some free time.

I agree spoon, i find counterstrike to be completley uninteresting and repeditive. I do not understand how people can sit for ours in the horid iceworld map speding much of the time waiting for the game to end. Also like you I play tribes 2 as well. Unfortunately im almost always one of the worst scorers in each game, even though I've been playing starsiege tribes for over 2 years now (not constantly). I only got tribes 2 last christmas, and think i prefer the first one, but maybe only because I'm I much more used to the first one.

Yeah, heh. I was playin wit him yesterday and he just ran in and knifed this dude every round. He was like.. posessed. PBC is pretty cool, but I got pissed when, last night, in the middle of a round, they just decided to boot everyone for a team war...

I never liked CS.. Somehow, there always seems to be lag, and it always matters. If not to you, then to the other guy. And then you're a cheater. Even though your kill/death ratio is about 1/4. Yep. So very fun. I guess you just have to find a good server, to avoid perpetual angst.

Firearms 2.4 was the best game ever, though. At least I, and a good two hundred hours of my life, seem to think so.

Zero, there's none of that on PBC. We try to keep a clean server, and even quickswitching with the AWP is not allowed. Besides, I'm usually the only admin on there most of the time, I politely ask people that are above everyone's skill level to leave if they are truly owning everyone, you know, with a 30/1 kill/death ratio.

DoD is the first last best mod. Tactics, teamwork, and awesome atmosphere/weapons/setting. Can't wait till beta 4, textures/models are getting a huge overhaul.

NS is incredibly fun when you get a good game (no lag.. even-ness)
Other than that, I play FA ALOT these days, probably 1-4 hours a day (addicted .) ... yeah.. I need to get up and go outside. If anyone gets FA, and wants to play me, I'll most likely be at The Downward Spiral, The Armory, or Fluffy's Clan Server. I really like the variety of weapons in the game, and the reduction of whorage, though it's still there (stupid freaking accurate famas)
Oh, and I go by Cadmond in any mod I play.

I tried FA and I just didn't like it as much as I did with CS. It seemed no one wanted to use any strategy. They just all ran off and started shooting..

Sorry for the DP, but I'd like to inform you that I don't plan on playing on PBC anytime soon. They kicked everyone out in the middle of the match just so they could have a clan war. I mean, we could've finished the game at least, but nooo. Then they locked it. I told them that if they kicked me my CS would get screwed up. Now I have to re install the patch and directX. I'm sorry that I suck. So I guess I won't be playing you soon...

The admins on PBC had perfectly just reasons for locking the server.

1) There were a dozen suspected hackers on the server that day, and at least 2 dozen this week.

2) People were complaining and yelling at the admins to change the map, when they do not help keep the server running, and they could have voted for it.

3) There were over 5 bans today alone, for intentional TKing, pr0n sprays, and cursing, and generally being gh3y.

4) 3 USMC players were seen on there, and because of a threat they made, they were all supposedly banned.

5) Due to the fact that everyone else was on, the paying admins couldn't get on to their own server because it was mostly filled with swine, we put a lock on and had a much-needed all admin game.

It was fun, and now it is over. You can go play now.

eh, I just don't like the fact that everyone seems to use the same gun in CS (that not being the awp, even though that is commonly used.) Strategy is never in CS for me.. so I must have missed something. Ugh, I'm having bad flashbacks of that psojb_thanatos map for FA.. map.. so.. slow...

Wow. I found that no one in FA uses strategy. They all just ran off and shot. When I broke my leg no one would help me so I lost all my health and died. I found that in CS we use far more strategy; at least they do on PBC. As for everyone using the same gun, I've switched around my lineup. I no longer purchase grenades, just the Bullpup and primary ammo, and some armor. If I can't afford the Bullpup I go with the MP5, and if I'm a Terrorist I'll purchase the Krieg. They are both great.

I don't like what they've done with Firearms, but I like it better than CS. DoD is better, but FA still has it's charm.
