I cannot remember. It sticks out as far as it needs to get dart closer to the plunger system.

I don't feel the way I used to do.
I know its bad,
After what we had,
But I’m just not the angel you knew.

Sorry this topic is kind of old, but I've got a question.

I filled that area between the brown funnel piece and 19/32 brass with hotglue, and wrapped the plunger head in E-tape, then put the O-ring over that. To my displeasure, the ranges seemed to have decreased. Do you know what's wrong? How good is the seal on your gun? Can you stop the plunger from moving by blacking off the front of the barrel with your hand?

Oh, I also moved the brass back like in yours. Did you extend the barrel so it still fit all the way in the 11" PVC? Or did you just leave it/cut it off?

When I wrapped the plunger head in e-tape I cut the e-tape to the same size of the groove it was going in and then I put the O-rings back on. Your seal should be good but not that good! When your seal is that good it is a sign of too much friction between the O-rings and the plunger tube. When I dry fire the gun with my hand pressed firm against the barrel I can here a "tsssssssss" sound for about a second or two.

I am a little confused about the last part of what you are talking about. It sounds like you think I remodded my original shotgun when in truth this is a whole new one. The brass barrels tip is flush with the PVC's tip Thats generally how I make all my barrels.

Ok, that's what mine does. I guess it could be because I didn't glue any parts together, so air could be leaking out there. Or the E tape I added could too wide, so it's against the plunger tube, adding friction.

In your new one, is the PVC still 11"? The brass was moved back further, causing the end to move back further. So the brass would have to be extended to fill the PVC completely. I hope this makes sense, it's kind of confusing to explain. So, it the PVC still 11", and you extended the brass barrel, or is it shorter so it sits flush with the tip of the brass?
Well, does it even matter if the brass isn't flush with the PVC?

Is the PVC still 11"? No it has been shortened the exact same length as the increased length of the revealed brass at the base of the barrel.

The brass barrel is flush with the pvc at the end the darts come out of.

No it doesnt matter if it sits flish I think it looks more professional. It would be weird looking to have brass sticking out the end the dart exits because brass tarnishes over time and I dont feel I should bust out the old Tarn X to clean it. It would also be kinda pointless to have excess pvc beyond the brass because who wants a longer barrel when they dont need one and it doesnt serve any purpose?

Update: I have fired another 200-300 rounds through this thing and it is stll holding up like a champ with no signs of plastic wear or breakage.

I did this write up this morning in a rush. I edited it alot just now. I cannot beleive how many errors I had missed in my hastiness.

Anders: The trigger is not hard to depress at all. I would say its as easier than depressing a teenager. I dont pull the trigger by the loop on this one. I push down on the very end tip of the trigger and its super easy.

Lancaster: Thank you

Trogdor. I have a few ideas in mind. The rest of the paint was going to be on the barrel. Or I was thinking of turning everything that was brown to red. I still got a few ideas in the air.

Sir Tofu: Wow, I sense a little bit of jealousy and exaggeration. This thing isnt really that stressed. I put about 10 shots through this thing with no reinforcement then I opened it up and there were no signs of stress. I then reinforced it and put over 50 shots through it. I opened it one last time, snooped around and again there were no stress marks. When it comes to sexyness and guns it really comes down to the eye of the beholder. But I'll bet with a gaping open hole in the front and bungees on yours that mine is infact sexier and cleaner looking. The X bow is known for 3 main things. Range, Accuracy and the comfortable stock.
Even if what you claim your gun can do then it comes down to this.
The best stock without a doubt goes to the X bow
The best accuracy is yet to be determined as this thing is very very accurate with a 12" barrel. I am not done my X-bow yet so I can compare those when it is done.
The best and in my opinion the most important trait of the X-bow is its range and that has been smashed by the awesome ranges of this gun. Farthest shooting springer was always the X-bow and now it is the Pump action shotgun. And even if your range is true I still got a 24 foot increase on ya. In my eyes the X-bow has been without a doubt dethroned.

Retiate: Thank you, I do not know the dimensions of the whiptail scorpion spring. Its like a nitefinder spring but a little bit longer and about 2/3 the width.

Sam: 1 I used E-tape I edited my original post to make that more clear.
2 I got the springs at a warehouse. They were all overstock. I was this place out in Cambridge called Fixco. I spent $50 on springs. I however got about 40+ springs all stronger than nerf stock springs. I also got about 10 torsion springs just to see which one would work specifically for this application.
3 The barrel breaks apart. It is breech loading if you check out the original pump action shotgun mod and you will see how it works.
4 The cold weather probably affected my darts by cutting out 5-8 feet in range. So potentially this thing could hit 170' but lets not say my gun can do that untill I actually see a dart travel that far. Unfortunately that wont be untill the spring.

WarX: Well thank you very much. I try to come up with new things. Videos are fun to do and I plan on doing another video for this one as well I just havent thought of any thing I can videotape for this write up.

Big Bob: Thanks, as soon as they start carrying the 12 shot at Bass pro shops you can expect a write up.

EDIT: For the record you may not need to find a stronger torsion spring. Just look for a really strong spring to put behind the trigger and have the other end meet with a wall hot glue.

Accuracy is more person based then gun but the better barrel helps and the xbow has been dethroned i mean its cheaper
better ranges, with a longer range and barrel it has more accuracy but it lack comfort which does not really matter
good job angel

You're just under a year late, with nothing to add and no real punctuation to speak of. Read the Code of Conduct and take it to heart if you want to stick around.

This is very impressive. I am looking forward to seeing a clip system for this thing. I would rather pay $20 for this than $100+ for a crossbow. Good work, keep it up.

Seriously? This thread is a year old, as was said in the post JUST above yours. Add to that the fact that he's not likely making a clip system because he modified the 12 barrel auto-rotating version of this MONTHS ago, and you're post just gets stupider.

We all hate you.....everyone.
