Well of course he died *sniff*. those crazy stunts he pulled were like playing
Russian roullete. And this time, he got the barrel with the bullet.

Wow, that's crazy. It's true, I read it somewhere on the internet earlier today.

It is shocking but, you can't be too suprised by what he does for a living.

I know I heard about it EARLY this morning.

Its terrible. The croc hunter was the man.

BUT we alll knew it was coming. I mean for a guy who jumps in a swamp full of alligators, what can you expect.

I didn't know stingrays were this dangerous...

Stingrays have a barb on the end of there tail, and the barb pierced his heart.

Of course sting rays are dangerous. That is why you shuffle your feet when your at the beach. Well, in Florida anyways. i guess we only have them here on the Gulf Coast. I never thought he would get killed by a ray though. For some reason i always thought it would be some kind of snake.

Of course sting rays are dangerous.

They are dangerous, but are very rarely fatal. There have only been 17 deaths by stingrays since 1996. It's odd that he was doing a documentary called The Ocean's Deadliest... I guess his title fit it perfectly.

If only it were Chuck Norris...after all, he survived playing RR with a clip loaded pistol.

I do remember seeing a flash with him in it. It was talking about the crazy things on TV...it was all clay like Celeb. Deathmatch. Anyways, he was wrestling a croc, and they over dramasized about the shorts...he didn't split them open, they came OFF. It was dead hilarious. And speaking of Celeb. Deathmatch, he was on one of them. He got picked up by a hawk and fed to its babies.

Poor fella...RIP.

Yeah this was rather sad news.

And exactly what was said earlier: that was a really rare instance. Honestly, it's amazing that the stinger entered at the right angle to get past all of his ribs.

At least Mr. Irwin died doing what he loved most, working with animals. He evaded danger this long, it's too bad he met his fate.

Mr. Irwin, we all salute you, now go in peace... To that croc-pit in the sky.
You were one of the good ones.

There have been three reported cases of stingray based deaths in Australia. According to your math, that makes the chances of getting killed by a stingray one in three.

You might want to check your math on that one, bucko.

There have only been 17 deaths by sting ray so 1 in how ever many die per year is pretty big. Kinda rare to be killed by a ray.

Sting rays are very gentle and will only sting if pissed off or scared, and even then the venom is not dangerous to humans.

He swam over one, it got startled and instinctively stung him, just so happens he was in the right spot to get past his ribs, into his heart.

I heard he pulled the stinger out before he died--he killed himself--the loss of the stinger in his heart caused rapid blood loss and loss of blood pressure so he was dead before he got to shore.

Not many people now in days are concerned with the enviroment. He was one of the few good guys who did. He will be soarly missed, and We sallutre you Croc Hunter.

He's been dealing with crocs all his life, and a stingray kills him! There have only been two stingray deaths in that area, including him. The last one was some kid a looong time ago.

Strange, I always thought he'd get his head bitten off by a croc. Kinda like how General Patton survived all that war only to die in a car accident.

R.I.P. Steve Irwin  didn't see that coming.

It good to see that he was loved from all over the world.
It is strange that he gets killed by a stingray and not a croc or snake.

He will be greatly missed.
RIP Steave Irwin

That is a rumor on ABC's part, when they asked John Stainton what had happened, he said that Steve was unconcious almost as soon as he got to the surface of the water, his crew got him back to Croc-1 where he later died of injuries. Everybody thinks that he pulled the stinger out himself because one of the crewmembers misheard what the producer had said, then went to the local news with it. Thus starting the rumor.

Meiser-- RIP Steve
