Thanks again everyone for coming out, I may do some highlights later, but it does seem everyone has those covered.

It was a pleasure to meet Ryan, Austian, Jeff, Trey, Mark, Ted, and Mike. To everyone else, it's always nice to see you. This has to be one of the smoothest wars ever, I don't think there were really any issues about people calling hits, everyone was very lax about it. I think getting away from Andrew's authoritarian style of yelling helps^_^

Everyone had great skill and sportsmanship and thanks for coming. Not only did the war go smoothly, but so did the actual planning-very few last minute cancellations that could have lowered attendance below 6 people.

I hope to head up to some Jersey wars after January or once I'm accepted to school.

Austin, Jeff, Trey, and Mark, and everyone who lives farther away are always welcome to come down for a bit and maybe get a smaller war going, but bigger than just a little fooling around.

Groove, I'll be happy to give you a hickey anytime...<g>

I hope everyone had a great ride home.

Jordan and Ryan, how long was the ride back? Just curious, mapquest gives me 2 hours, I thought you said it was like one and a half.

So here are my fave moments of the War:

-SLAMMING into that pole everyone was talking about.
-Baseball sliding and getting a great shot on someone. The grass was perfect for it.
-Being with a group who can follow directions and learn tactics.
-Seeing Hombre attempt to round a corner about 2 steps too soon and bang into the wall.
-Meeting the coolest group of guys yet. We could all team up this year and fucking DESTROY the West Coast.
-Diving OVER someone's shot at me from the hill. I dove up the hill as someone was shooting down.

I'm sure there are more I'm forgetting.

My fave moments of the rest of the weekend:

-Seeing parts of DC I missed the last time I was there, including the constitution and declaration of independence.
-Meeting DAVID who works at the National Archives and absolutely LOVES his job.
-Speaking with Wesley Niccolls, the coolest WWII vet ever. He invented a brushless DC motor that powers spaceships to this day. He's the mother fucking tits, and has a killer handshake.
-Finally getting to take in all of the newly completed WWII Memorial.

Last but not least:

-The RETURN CAR RIDE WITH EVIL AND SHRIMP. That was a blast. So many good stories.

NerfMonky, I found your 12 inch brass/pvc nested barrel and your sports glasses, so dont worry.

Thanks man. I don't think I'm missing a pair of glasses actually, but the brass barrel was pissing me off when I was looking around for it. Good to know it's safe somewhere.

One thing I forgot that was absolutely awesome: having absolutely NO idea there were three teams in that one round with orange, pink and untaped and then finding out halfway through.

On that note, one of my dumbass moments was rounding the corner by the playground and finding Dave and Hombre (I think), then being like "Wait.. you guys ARE on my team, right?" And both of them shooting me.

For future reference: when you've got tape on and they don't/you can't tell, shoot them first, ask questions later.

That one made me laugh.

EDIT: Also, my favorite "What the fuck?!" moment was definitely when Mike nailed me in the back with his Blast Bazooka look-alike from what seemed like at least a hundred feet away. I love those guns.

Mike was a god with that LBB knockoff. I was definately taken out more by him with that gun than anyone else and any other gun.

As for those who aspire to use homemades in wars:
-Pump-action is awesome
-As cool as bottom-fed clips are, unless you have 3 or more, it's easier to have a breech opening in the top so you can just plug in darts as you go
-Learn the actual ranges of your guns before you go out and shoot people. I lost count as to how many times I overestimated the ranges of my gun(s).

As for moments:
-Sixteen Candles
-Boobies
-Dave shooting himself in the nuts
-"It shouldn't have taken us 10 fucking minutes to pay a bill"

Everything else was pretty much covered...

I've still got that mark on my neck from your Crossbow. Granted, I was already counting out, but it doesn't really matter because it really does look like a hickey. It makes me happy.

It takes us about an hour and a half to ride up to Rockville / Frederick if I am driving. It's not that bad of a drive at all. Driving back is another story, I think it's a little over two because we hit the evening traffic. Anywho, great war, I'm going to try to upload our pictures this afternoon. I'll keep everyone posted.

2 hours? Jesus, it took us almost 6 to get home on Sunday. Apparently, they fucking CLOSED Delaware, and decided not to tell anyone about it.

If Talio didn't live there, I'd say that lame ass state doesn't have any redeeming qualities.

Oooh..great post war moment:
Jordan and I not even able to walk down the stairs out of our home the next morning, so we had to use our arms to "monkey" our way down by use of the railings. X) our legs felt like they were going to just... detach

Okay, as promised, here are the pics from the war. I apologize for the lack of quality of them, did the best I could to clean them up in Photoshop. The little Digicam I brought is primarily used for video capture, so next time I'll bring my other digital camera and we'll get some better shots. But I digress.

Here's the album, complete with funny captions for each individual picture:

And just because I had way too much fun sifting through the photos and editing them, I saw a juicy opportunity for a forum picture. Sorry, Rambo. We're all going to have fun at your expense.

Alas, your picture was not edited B).

The two funny pictures are available on my myspace.

One time I was coming to a Jersey war and they closed off one side of the highway - aparently Bush was touring Newark. Then on the way back they closed the other side of the road. Quite lucky timing I'd say.

I found a pair of shooting glasses made by a company AOSafety. If someone wants to claim them, say so now. I'm not sure if they are worth shipping or not, as I don't know the cost. But if someone wants to make a claim...
