went back to the OSH I bought it from to find 9/16, and I looked at the label... copper. sorry to bother you guys, I'm an über nüber. sad.gif I feel so retarded ><

I did that my first time around, too. : o) It would be pretty cool if you could get brass in 10' segments like copper though, wouldn't it? ; o)

Yea, as N34 said, I'd try shortening your barrel. I checked out the link you gave, and 6" seems like a little much...

One thing you should do is, if it's the new edition, get a better spring. That mod uses the one of the older ed'tns, which came with a good spring: and if your plunger isn't advancing as fast as his is, that explains the poor performance.

EDIT: Just thought of something else: The thing about Crayola's markers is that they are smaller on one end than the other. I'm betting you have the thin end facing forward, so the dart moves around easy in the back -- but can't get out the front because it's too thin.

Try a different brand of marker. I think Crayola is the only brand that is thinner towards the front.

moosey, a roseart marker would be better because it doesn't have ridges in it and crayolas have 3 ridges in the back so the darts may not go all the way down. If you have a dremel you can sand the ridges down and crayolas will work fine.

I know he's not using brass. I was just trying to make him not feel as bad.

You're right about the Crayola, though. I had read that, I guess I just thought he might think of because you linked to a crayola marker:

Did you read my post? Crayolas don't work very well because they get thinner at one end. You can make that the back, but then either you won't be able to get the dart all the way in, or the front will just be too big (pending dart size).

My whole arsenal of 20+ guns was modded with crayolas before I started using stefans. I now have over 45 guns modded with cpvc to use stefans. I know what I'm doing.

The constriction in the crayola is good because you can put thinner darts farther back so they are tight in the barrel or you put thicker darts in until they are tight. It also holds the dart in the barrel longer to build up pressure so there is better range. Dremmeling the rigdes out of the back mean that you can stick the darts in farther because the ridges kept the dart from going all the way in.

I would buy rosearts because they don't have large rigdes in the back like crayolas, that need to be dremmeled out. OR you can put the stock barrel back on with the air restrictors removed and you wil get better performance. Just make sure to hot glue in between the plunger tube, air restrictor and stock barrel. You will probably need to put a rubber band around the front of the gun and back to the plunger becuase the spring in the blue/yellow nf is weaker than in the older blue/siver nf.


Does the gray/green one have the same spring as your other one?

I haven't changed the spring in Either NF. I'm gonna pick up a box of markers when I get binders and stuff for school. Thanks for the hand guys.
