I thought it would be cool to have high-cap mags for the LS and Hasbro didn't really like the idea at the MA war so I made my own. I basically just cut the bottom off of one clip and the top of the other. Here are some pics:

Pretty sweet. So the mag now hold 12 darts? And there are no jams or anything? Cool

So wait did you conect the two springs or did you have to make a new spring? And if you did make a new spring approximatly how much music wire (or whatever you chose to use) did you need to make the spring?

But great job on the overall thing!

I just joined the two magazine springs together and it holds 13 darts with no jamming problems.

I really think that it would be VERY easy to make a new mag for this gun. You just have to consentrate on the lips and the lock.

I think this gun would be a good candidate for a drum magazine. It would be simple to just attach the top of a stock mag to a CD case drum mag.

Except the 3DBBQ's cd drum mag is gravity feed and as far as I know there's no spring fed drum mag in existence.

That's true, but I've read several ideas on this forum about using simple rubberband mechanisms to make them feed.

Could you describe in detail how to do this mod, I don't want to mess up my clips and make my Longshot totally worthless, thanks.

You take your first clip and cut the bottom off just above the screws then you cut the top of the other clip off just under the curved pieces. Then you sand the inside of each clip where the cut is until the dart pusher upper movies up and down freely. Take the two mag springs and glue them together one on top of the other and wrap the joined part in tape. I then hot glued straight pieces of plastic to each side to ensure that the two clips lined up and stayed in place. Put the spring and dart pusher into the mag and then tack them into place(make sure that the dart pusher upper does not get stuck half way up and if it does you need to either re align the two mags or do more sanding), remove the pieces of plastic and go around the joined area with epoxy or whatevers your preference.

Did you open up the clip before cutting,
or how did you cut the clip with out damaging the spring?

I would be worried about going to pull the mag out and the bottom one breaking off. I like having 2 seperate mags so you could have one in the gun and load the other one when your not shooting. The double mag gives you a big advantage because you have 13 shots before you have to reload and everyone else has a single barrel or turret on thier gun.

If you could fabricate a long clip spring to accomodate it, you could make a clip that would accomodate more rounds by adding walls just below the ledge that meets the bottom of the LS. That way you don't sacrifice one clip for an extra long one and then don't have to worry about fabricating the top of the clip if you decide you need more than one clip.

I think that a better sealed breech would best accomodate(I use this word far too much) the LS, since the stock blaster suffers from the design of it.

I dont think that this idea is at all useless but personally I am not going to do it until after hasbro starts selling extra clips. I dont want to risk it but once they do come out with them you could still have two clips and have them both be high capacity.

I feel like I must comment on this mod.

I broke the mag springs trying to do this mod, and not i have no working clips for the gun now.

I succeeded in doing the mod and it worked for a while. It only held 9 darts until the spring started crushing the dart. I tried to extend the a single spring so i wouldn't have dart crushing compression anymore. DON'T DO THAT!

I didn't fully understand how the spring worked so now I have 2 dead springs for my mag. I've tried to make a new spring, but the gauge of wire I was using is too big and the spring is too strong.

This is a warning for all those who who try do combine mags.

If anyone can get this working at optimum performance, the capacity will become almost 3x as much a 1 mag. I was able to fir 16 darts in the clip while I still have a spring, but I lost about 10 in the test due to immense pressures.

Ok so I really want to do this but I am unsure of how exactly one is supposed to open the clip I dont want to pry to much for fear of breaking it. On an older topic someone said how they did but it didnt make sense to me. If someone were to explain in detail how to do this I would be thankful.

I pried the magazine apart, but near the top on each side are to little pieces of plastic theat lock onto the other side. I had to just cut through them along the seam, and when I was done I just glued them backtogether. You only have to do this to the clip that'll become the bottom. The other one you just ahave to cut the bottom off.

I still wouldn't trust cutting something with a spring still in it.

I took the spring out before I cut it, when you unscrew the bottom you can open it up enough to get it out. Also I used a utility knife(hand tool).
