My mod is essientally cxwq's mod, with a few twists.
Instead of a mouse pad, foam craft sheet is used.
Instead of sch80 pvc, 9/16 petg is used with 2 inches of 9/16 brass in the back. The petg is cut about 1.5 inches shorter than 12 inches.

So, here's what I did:

Nested the brass in petg:

Sawed off the stupid, stupid scope:

Wrapped foam craft sheet and stuck the barrel in:

Put it together, added ammoholders:

With 3 bands I'm getting 60-70 feet. I will soon put in a strong spring. I found that new style nitefinder spring is a tad bit smaller than an eab spring, meaning a high tension spring used for nitefinders will be perfect.

Hmmm.... Sir Tofu you and I did something wrong with the mod. I don't know what yet. WE should be able to hit 75' with no bands or spring replacement. Dude great mod. I actually just used some yellow foam(like craft sheet). I think you and I are doing something wrong with the seal because it is hard to make a perfect seal with the plunger size.

I hope I'm not sounding discouraging at all. I'm just saying this to see what other people get on their EaB's. Also thank you for being honest on ranges!

No, we are not doing anything wrong. Cxwq's spring replacement gave him a range of an average of 77', and a strong spring is better than 3 bands.

I use to have an Eab modded but then the catch on the plunger rod wore down and didn't work any more, so reinforce now before it is too late!

No not the catch/trigger part but the notch on the plunger rod that the catch catchs on.

I agree I don't think your getting as much as you should be. I got 83 feet averge with a 9 inch CPVC barrel with bands. No spring replacement.

The EaB and the BBB are two guns I have never had any luck with. I've had 2 of each, attempted to mod both, and have never had either get above 60'. Maybe I was just unlucky and they were all in bad condition when I got them, or maybe the plungers were already warped or something, but I tried at LEAST 5 barrel types on the EaB and BBB respectively, and I've never had any luck. With the EaB in particular, I've done extensive work and never gotten anything that I'd consider satisfactory.

Just because you see someone get good ranges doesn't mean that you have to or will. Just in case anyone worries about not getting "the standard distance".

Update:

I put a stronger spring in the eab. It is what carrtoon started using in nf's and such. I thought this spring would be pretty good. Turned out the spring was a fraction longer than the eab spring, so I had to cut a little off with the dremel. The cut spring is giving me 70-80 feet now with good darts. Crappy darts just fishtail and go 40-50 feet.
I would definitley reccomen this gun over a bbb and xbow because of its reload time. With a barrel that has a loose fit, reloading is quick.
