Iceanubis, have you tried tightening the screws on the case? That was a problem with my PC after I opened it up; a whole shitload of tweaking with the screw tightness fixed it.

Uh not going to lie, I didn't check this topic after my last post until now. Anyways, each bladder has 2 holes; one for in and one for out, right? Well I figured that if you used something like 2 4-way tubing connectors, you could link all the inputs and all the outputs to one 4-way connector each, and then use the remaining opening in the connector to connect the now linked bladders to the pump and output area.

You know, I haven't tried that. However, I will try to mess with the screws and see if it makes a difference. If not, I have a big, complicated mess to deal with since I would intend to either mod the wheel thing AssassinNF was talking about or make my own lever system. I'll give you an update.

Success!

Tightening the screws did little to nothing, but I decided to revisit the electrical tape, except this time I doubled the amount of tape I used. After putting a 5 layer thick strip of tape on the right side of the clip, I now have a Magstrike that can fire in short bursts, and it works great.

To do this yourself, just put e-tape wherever there isn't any ridges or guidlines until the clip fits snuggly. First, you might want to try tightening the screws. It didn't work for me, but it worked for ompa, so it might work.

I now have a great machine gun primary, and all it took was a shitload of e-tape.

That's really wierd that it took 5 LAYERS of E-tape to make the clip sufficiently tight... I didn't know you had that big of a gap to fill. That has to be a manufacturing defect or something. The thing with the PC I had was that if I tighened the screws or loosened the screws, it affected how tightly the clip was held. I only had to adjust the 3 screws that were around the clip area mind you, not all of them.

If you really have that big of a gap to fill though, tightening the screws won't do anything; you might as well go straight to the e-tape, which seems to have worked for AssassinNF.

Verifying the e-tape, five seems to be the magic number. Unlike AssassinNF, I put the tape right over the ridges on the right side. The clip might slip about half a barrel down if I start pumping, but that's not a problem. Hi NerfHaven!

You got the pronunciation right, but it's spelt UZI, an Israilie sud machine gun.

So the e-tape is put on the ridges of the clip or beside it on the flat surface? Oh, and the mechanism that keeps the clip from falling is just a nob on a spring right(I haven't checked, but I think it is)? If so, then would it work to just put another spring in it or a slightly harder spring? Anyways, welcome to Nerfhaven Fred!

I put mine on the flat surface on the right side, Fredfred put his on the rigdes on the right side, and both worked.

All I know is that putting it on the flat surface definitely works.

That little nub is what is supposed to keep it from falling, but it doesn't. I doubt adding a stronger spring would work, but it might.

It's 6 layers now. It's really tight, but it works great and the clip never falls back down.

Can we have some pics of the tape job, or a discription of how far up and down you went with the tape?

It's really not that hard to figure out. I taped from the belt clip to the bottom of the clip.

I am also upset with my newly aquired MS. I cannot fire more then one clip with one priming. The darts go 2-21 feet stock. The clip is also slipping down rather pathetically. If I didn't know how to mod gun I would have returned this thing shortly after opening it up. I do however love how the Nerf logo looks on the black bladder cover. When I get this thing open I will try and put a stronger spring behind the green part. I just want to stay away from things like exterior E-tape because it makes things looks sloppy.

That's weird my darts go from 20 ft- 33 ft. I can also get off 1 clip and 7 other darts of the other clip in one priming. Maybe you should return yours Angel and get another one or something. The first one I got had to be pumped 30 times before getting 1 clip off, so I returned it. Now it only takes 18 pumps for a clip.

I am not going to return this thing again. When I bought it the first time the store was just closing. I got home and opened it up and it was RED! I dont like the red version. Its like something santa would use in a nerf war.
So I took it back. Got the blue one and just brought it back home today. I am not returning it again. Besides I plan on opening it up and making it 2-3 times better. I think the main problem is in the clip being so loose. The clips opening isnt lined up with the air supply things like that.

All you guys need to do to prevent tha magazine from falling is to ad a stronger spring. For those of you with a magstrike in your hands, remove the magazine and look straight down into the magazine well. Look to the right and you will see a green plastic piece that can be pushed in and comes back out with a spring, its like the size of a dime. Take your gun apart and unscrw this, there should be one screw. Add a pen spring along with the existing spring, put the gun back together and try it out. Worked for me but you may need to add more than one extra spring. And sorry about the bad explination I dont have pics...

Sorry if it's a n00b question, but what exactly is a backpack mod? I have little/no experience with pump guns and I'm considering getting a magstrike.

(I searched for 'backpack mod' and all I got was two links to magstrike threads that hardly mention it)

It's taking some RF20 bladders or some tubing and hooking it up to the magstrike, allowing you to fire much more than one clip with each priming. It's called a "backpack mod" because the bladders/tubing/whatever are supposed to be in a backpack, kinda like a fuel pack for a flamethrower.

Putting a stronger spring in the little green thing is a great idea, but I was too lazy to open up my magstrike, so I used E-tape. It really doesn't look bad, it's just a black stripe on the side on the clip.

I think I'll use the spring addition thing. The e-tape is ugly! It also reduces the sound of the clip going up which is pretty intimidating. I wouldn't recommend doing a backpack mod if you don't have more than 2 clips. Oh, and for some reason I think blue magstrikes tend to work less than red ones. Mine was blue and I had to return it for...red.

I used 5 layers of masking tape and that doesn't look half bad, also it doesn't seem to diminish the sound.

Yeah I noticed it loosing some if not all its pressure relitively fast like in two minutes if you pump 20 times. If you were to be useing it in a big war or in a feild you would have to pump before you fired to make shure it still had any power to fire the clip.

The gun just sounds painful and john yelped when you shot him in the leg.

It doesn't lose pressure. I used it as my primary in a war a while ago, and I left it pumped for about 10 minutes, and it still fired off a whole clip with no problems, no leaks, and no 4-letter words. I'll prove it to you at the war on the 2nd. (you'd better bring you own guns! Craig and Travis will be borrowing my guns, and I won't have enough left for you to borrow them, too! :) ) also, John yelps when I shoot him with a broken scout from 20 feet, so that's not saying much.

For the rest of you, he doesn't know if it has a leak. He does not own a magstrike, and he is talking about mine, which doesn't leak or lose pressure, so I don't know what he's talking about....

Ok let me clarify. I havnt been around lately so I am just now getting to this so...

I never said it did have a leak. Nor did I say it has this problem. I was expressing my concern that that could possibly happen.

I really doubt travis is going to need anything as he is got a lot of stuff(given it is old stuff and might not bring them). Craig has his pistols and will just need your bbb. I will bring my uber nf and bbb along with other stuff that could help. And yeah given John dose yelp at anything. Id hate to see him play airsoft or paintball. Actually I would love to see that it would be very funny. Id pay money to see that!!

It happened to me.

I just modified my Magstrike by placing a hose clamp on the end of the air bladder in order to fix a slow leak (tank empties after 15-20 minutes). It has failed to fix the problem. I put the gun under water and can't find out where the leak is. My magstrike works great besides that leak since it gets a 30'-45' range at a slight arc, it fires 17 darts on 28 pumps, and the clip hardly ever slides down.

I'm new to modifying nerf guns. Can some experienced nerf modifier tell me how to find and fix leaks.

Also my Rapid Fire 20 and my Wildfire both recently started emptying after a minute or so. I found the leak on the Wildfire. The air comes out the pump shaft by the handle. HELP!

Jon is the master of the backpack mod, after all he did make the BEAST right?
We should stop calling out/making fun of/pissing GC off. He's actually contributed and is available for trade. He's a better than average member no doubt. Got your back Cole.
