I'm not sure when it would be best to schedule this for. The weather can be kind of here until after July so August and September will probably offer better weather. Here's my current suggestion for a location.

http://maps.google.c...043259&t=h&om=1
The greenery nearby is a set of public soccer fields that nobody owns and seemingly nobody uses. We would only need to inform the nearby community college campus police. There are clusters and rows of trees, benches, a gazebo, and bathrooms close-by. This location is only a $12 taxi ride from Dulles Intl.

There are a few other locations in the area but this one as far as I can tell is the largest and most unused.
I'm also working on finding locations that would be more accessible by Metro to make things easier. This was just the first location that came to mind.

Thoughts? Preferences? Quibbles?

The Calendar for NerfHaven already has two NJ wars down on the calendar for August. While the dates may be changed, they have always been held on the weekends listed. I would suggest you find some dates that work for you that aren't those weekends. Who know, maybe I'll drive up there from Blacksburg.

Lots of Summer Wars this year. Sooner rather than later would be my vote.

Any opinions on September? And I hadn't realized that the Wayside Elementary School where this event is traditionally held is accessible by Bus from the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro station.
Unless someone knows of a larger and more convenient playing field we might as well just go with what's known to work.
The hillcrest heights community center (inbetween the Naylor Road and Southern Ave Metro stations) has more land, but south of DC is not exactly the nicest area of the city.

Why not a weekend in June? Maybe another 2 day event like that last DCNO? I know I'll be coming down and staying in the Baltimore area. Whatever you decide, let me know and I'll put it up on the calendar.

If we do a two-day thing, I have been looking at June 17-18. It's two weeks after SJNNO, and as far as I know, no holidays, wars, or other wide-spread obligations.

All other wars are currently planned for June or August, and/or maybe something in July before Apoc' and GnomeFest?

Do people want to change the location? The gauntlet may not work if we get a larger showing.

Veggie, Do you spend the summer on boat? I think that's one summer at NAVY...

Just here to say that that date will not work for me...SAT's. If possible, could you take it off the calender, maybe we'll go for something a few weeks later.

I'm going to have to ask a question that's been bugging me for quite some time.

Is there any way I could use my homemades? None of them shoot over 110" that I'm aware of, and I'd feel incredibly stupid bringing something I could not use. The question is mainly for future wars, but I'd like to know in order to determine whether I should work on homemades or modifications after I finish my current list of projects.

I took a look at the first (or second, I'm not quite sure where the first one went) post regarding DCNO's, and Cranky said guns would be banned on a case-by-case basis. However, seeing as I'll be driving to college, and can only bring a limited supply of guns, I'd really like to know in general (I know Titans are more than likely off limits, and I recall reading somewhere about if it out-shot a singled AT2k, which I don't think mine do), so I know what to bring with me. And upon further reading of old DCNO threads, all I'm getting is that bannings are done case-by-case. Going off Talio's rules, none of my guns are semi-auto, all require to be primed before one shot can be fired, and none of them shoot more than one dart at a time unless you purposely jam them down the barrel. Basically, all my guns are similar in range and function (minus the shells) to a FAR.

Thanks for any help guys.

Bring anything you want ompa. We will ban anything we deem too dangerous. I have a variety of blasters you could borrow if you needed.

Also, NOTE:

Sunday the 18th is fathers day. I won't be able to make it to a second day. As it is right now, I will be in Wilmington, DE for the weekend, so a short trip for saturday is totally doable. I'm trying to see if my gf can get off work to come also.

Talio, call or email me when you get a chance. I want to talk about that weekend.

I won't be able to get CSHG done before this. I'm kinda distracted by my new computer case project which I've been trying to make progress on for almost a year now. I should be able to make it otherwise.

I'm not sure if I will be making it or not. Since SJNNO was cancelled/rescheduled I'm hungry for another war. There's a staff party the 17th my dad must host, then obviously the 18th is Father's Day, but my mom is thinking she could take me alone so we could make it the 17th. I really hope it works out.

50/50 for me right now, I'll keep everyone updated.

So whats the word? We need a roll call.

I have to request off from work if I'm to go, and I need to know if there's still gonna be a war going on. From the look of it, we're running into the same problem as last time. Some people can come Saturday, and some can come Sunday. I don't want a repeat of last time where it was me and Hersh with a few other random-ass kids showing up. Homie don't play that way.

My suggestion at this point would be to postpone the war and shoot for the last weekend in June, or sometime in early July. At any rate, let's see who is still able to come aside from those who said they couldn't already...

Look in the SJNNO topic. That's your best bet at the moment. There should be more to come though.

Also, review the Code of Conduct.

I'm gonna be in DE that weekend anyway. I would say the the war is JUST for saturday. There is no way we should really make it on Dad's day.

Who can make it for the 17th?

Sound off, and I'll do a head count.

That hurt...I thought we were friends...

Does this mean you're unlikely to be able to make it the 17th, or that it would be better for everyone in general if the war were moved back?

I SHOULD have an answer of yes or no by tomorrow. Hope I can make it, cause I haven't Nerfed in four and a half months and it's killing me.
