Alright before I begin let me just say that this is my first breech,BBB,and clip I have ever worked with.

I like the BBBB but didnt like certain things and wanted to come up with my own design. It started with and idea I had to pull hard at to finally understand the basics. Then I wrote it all down on paper.(This really helps.) Enough chatter, lets talk about how I did it already.

This is what I began with a stock BBB.I hated the arrows because even when I got them the fins were broken so I knew I had to do something more. I also had to do something more because I am a modder and this is what we do.
Posted Image

I opened the gun up then sawed off the barrel where the arrows slide down and sanded it flush so it looks like this. Can you see the air restrictor in the back? I kept that in the gun because the thing felt like it was going to break without it.
Posted Image

I then cut/sanded down the part at the front of the gun so cpvc could slide through it. You will also need to sand down a few nubs inside as they create friction against the pulling and pushing of this gun.
Posted Image

The barrel was attached using a little bit of 5 minutre epoxy to stabilize then covered it in plumbers goop. At the base of the barrel there is a trimmed coupler that helped keep it in place and it gave the glue something else to bite into. The pvc is cut in 2 places. 1 place on the top of the barrel for the breech and the 2nd place on the bottom for the sliding bar to connect to the cpvc so it can slide the 19/32" over the 9/16" creating the air tight seal I always wanted in the breach. Here are some videos of the breach and the Breach closing sliding arm. There is 10.5" of 9/16" brass and about 4-5 inches of 19'32" brass that slides over the breach. The pvc is also 10.5". The second opening in the bottom of the pvc should be slightly larger than 3".

The clip was fun to figure out and I went over a lot of ideas and one day looked down after scraping my pits with the thing and realized this might work. It could open from both ends and was transparent but could it hold nerf darts? After cleaning the thing out it turned out it could. To help get rid of the gunk left by the stickers use either goof off or zippo lighter fluid. as seen in the back of this pic.
Posted Image

Snap off the back end and clean the thing out. This part is not fun if you are using a gel type of deoderant. Then bust out your saw or dremel and make the cut. along the top of the stick.
Posted Image

Now take the lid off the deoderant and chop it down to the right size. Then cut a hole in the bottom and line it up with the breech and epoxy/goop it on there. I used a little bit of 5 minute epoxy to keep it sturdy and then used the plumbers goop.
Posted Image

The clip on its own should look like this. She snaps in and out of place now. Be sure to grab a deoderant stick that snaps in place and doesn't just slide on or you could lose your clip if things get really intense.
Posted Image

The clip can currently hold 6 fireable darts +1 in the barrel and 1 weighted dart. I will be working with different clip ideas shortly but I know for sure I will be able to get at least 7 fireable darts and 1 weighted dart. the weighted dart is filled with 6 or 7 size 7/0 fishing weights. It sits at the top of the clip and helps push down the darts flush with the breach. The hot glue has been pushed in so it is flush with the darts end so there is nothing for the glue to catch onto.

Now for the breach opening/closing arm. Take the right length of cpvc and epoxy/goop it onto the the existing rod of the BBB like so. I think I used around 10" this has to line up with the opening at the bottom of the pvc barrel.
Posted Image

Now take the 2 1/2" cpvc 90 degree couplers and stick a small peice of cpvc in between them and epoxy them together. Make sure they are on the right angle to line up with the opening on the bottom of the pvc barrel. Epoxy/goop them together and be sure to goop them to the existing peice of cpvc sticking out of the BBB.

Here are the over all internals of the gun.
Posted Image

The final package in all its glory.
Posted Image

It gets ranges of about 63 feet on average I beleive this is because my barrel is too long. What do you guys think?

Last and certainly not least some enjoyable videos of the gun firing.
Firing the gun.
First person firing!
I dont know why, but on the second video the fourth shot kinda craps out on me making a humorous pinging sound on something. Also my aiming is off because I had to hold the gun weird to get the video.
After I find a way to increase the ranges I will be working on a paint job.

There you have it. My peice of work that I have been working on for that last few weeks. I give thanks to the De-commisioner who helped film the second video, boltsniper for reccomending Youtube and Pissbacon for sparking this fire of an idea inside my head. Questions, comments, suggestions?

I love this. It's an excellent idea. And what better blaster to use for such a purpose? I think this idea alone brings the Big Bad Bow up a few notches all by itself.

Excellent work.

Oh, and what are those strange white darts?

Awesome! Nice work! The way the BBB cocks is one of the best things about the BBB. It brings new and undone mods to the table. Great job!

This may seem kind of weird to some people, but I save all of my old deorderant sticks. I mean, I have a stack of about three right now, but that'll go up by one in a few weeks. I'm gonna have to start cleaning those out, even though I have no idea what I will use them in. Perhaps I'm gonna have to pick up a BBB as well...

Unfortunatly I use micro Stefans that are 1.75" long, so my darts don't fit too well. I'd have to make a couple of plates out of aircraft plywood or balsa sheets.

Angels Bbb, My best work yet.

I agree.

I'd never have thought of using a deodorant stick as a multi-dart box magazine. That's very creative (and keeps the BBB smelling fresh). ^_^

The multi-shot creativity being exploited in the BBB is impressive and refreshing. It's almost passe` to have a single shot BBB in the arsenal.

I took the liberty to post them on another site. The quality however is horrible in both sound and video but I guess if you cant open them through Youtube then I hope this will work.

Clip breach
Sliding arm that closes the breach
Me in my favorite mask shooting the BBB
First person shooting!
Once again I would like to mention that you should only open these videos if you cant see the ones in the first two posts. These videos are of a really bad quality.

IceAnubis: The darts are stefans made from white foam backer rod that can be ordered from here.

I also edited the first post to involve a little more info on the clip.

I have a few ideas about what that poster is behind there...care to enlighten us or is it what I think it is?

Hey, where did you get the music for that mask video...I must have it...

Nice job, or, congrats on a job well done. I really will have to think about getting a BBB now.

Petrie, fix your grammar and capitalization, please.

I'm just curious how exactly you bonded the arm to the brass, without having it break off. I've had trouble finding glue that works well for bonding such a small surface area, the only glue I've had luck with is JB weld.

very nice job on getting around the gravity-fed clip with the cpvc couplers. Also good idea with the deodorant stick clips. Like GeneralPrimevil, I switched to shorter darts (a little over 1.5in) so the dimensions may not be ideal for me but neither is the current clip on my BBB. I suppose, I could easily add "filler" or some custom "walls" to accomodate my darts.

Great work!

EDIT:

P.S. are you worried at all about your weighted stefan falling into the chamber? You may have already considered something like this but I ended up tying some fishing line to my CPVC weight (for "pushing" darts down) to limit how far it falls. Its also tied it to a little bead on the outside of the clip - a pull handle when I'm reloading. Just a thought.

Loctite clear epoxy should work. But be warned: it smells like ass. Most glues do, but it's particularly potent.

P.S.  are you worried at all about your weighted stefan falling into the chamber?

The last dart in the clip is yellow instead of white or black, so this lets me know when I am getting low. When I see that I have only one shot left I cock and shoot but dont return the gun to uncocked position. This keeps the breech closed. It would be at this point where I change the clips and then return it to its cocked position. This would allow for another dart to fall in and allow the shooting to commence once more. The dart has fallen in before when I wasn't paying attention but its no big deal I just shoot it and the thing goes 2 feet then I add the next clip.

Ompa. The glue I have used is plumbers goop. I was concerned I would have problems attaching these together at first myself, so I checked out the glue section at my local hardware store. Plumbers goop reads it is perfect for glueing brass and Pvc. I read that and knew it was the stuff to use.

Nice job, last night, I made a spring fed version of these clips, that uses a double shot shell ejection spring. It actually works alright, now I just need to make a good bolt.

10.5 inches. I am worried it might be too long though. What is the average length of a brass barrel on a BBB? 9/16" is the size I am using.

I'd use 8 or 9 inches of brass. what works best is 17/32, but that is much harder to use in a clip mod, because the darts barly fit when twisted in. but then again, I haven't used 9/16 yet.

Yeah I just cut down the Barrel today. It is now down to 9.5".
This is not the end of the mod because I am still working out a few kinks. I will be expecting to be getting high 80's in range. I will post when that is up and how I got there.
