Wow, not even realizing it, I becaome something which I don't even know what it would be. That was in the span it took me to post earlier in this topic 'til as of a week ago. Dayum.

Yeah, so what would be the "clan leader, use homemades like fishing rods (a different one for a different purpose, even if the difference is almost non-existant), love to host and play, photography/videography is the middlename, will only take a shot if it is outside of 200 ft. or within 10, can't wait 'til tomorrow, broker than a 1952 Marauder, must have some realism in games while keeping it Nerf" kind of person?

Hmmm...intriguing.

I don't think the "will only take a shot if it is outside 200 ft. or within 10" part should really apply, but I get the idea. I just don't think those of us who run clans should be considered pussies who hide football fields away from the main battle...

I guess I could fall underthat category, but I don't switch guns like the "uses homemades like fishing rods" suggests... Typcally, I don't think a "clan leader" has enough money to have enough guns for each situation. As you said yourself, he/she is "more broke than a 1952 Marauder.

Oh, and I don't need realism. I need foam flying. At me or away from me, i could care less.

I must admit, some of the responses I've read really make me laugh...
Someone makes a perfectly good argument about why "such and such" isn't a good idea or a desirable category to fall under, and then the next post is somebody saying how that particular category describes them perfectly.

As though they are completely unaware of the previous post.

Pretty damn funny...

Where is the "Girl who just wants to nerf?"

Seriously. I have no idea which one I am. I thinking more like "old-coot" because I honestly don't know why I am still interested. Especially when I haven't gone to a war in a while because no one around here nerfs anymore. Most of my guns are dead...except Alf who's still spring'in. Oh well.

I just like to tinker and machine. Nerf just gives me a pleasant break from my usual projects that can be far more stressful and/or expensive.

The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?

Wow, google search brought me here (linkage.)

I feel I fit around 4 of those classifications, but the last post in this topic was over a month ago, so I decided "retard" was the best fit -_-

But seriously, this was a great discussion and I'm quite glad Piney put some good time into it.

I'm sad that there's an obvious life-cycle to the online nerf experience. I went from exuberant nerfer/forum-goer to moderator (at nhq) to tired old person who sometimes goes online simply to fulfill obligations to the faceless nerds on a site about plastic toys. Give people freedom and look what they waste it on.

In my attempt to retain credibility (ie, me not being banned) I actually do have something useful to contribute. I think that those listings are part of a natural life cycle. New members generally are quite exuberant about the sport, but don't know how to turn their enthusiasm into something useful. They either make an annoyance of themselves and leave or are killed off. A few (probably a minority) survive their first 3 months or so and are drawn into modding. They successfully mod a gun or two and become very happy with the results. Eventually they mod all the recent guns and have enough to equip them for wars. Wars become less of an anticipated life-event and slow down in frequency. This slowness either causes a gradual death that is permanent or a slump which is overcome when an old nerfer they talked with online links them to a post about the new guns or a cool war. Just one retard's two cents.
