the front blaster is a single shot. It fires from a second barrel below the main one for the Longshot.

Awwww... the magstrike sucks I just bought a pc a few months ago.

EDIT: Also, where does the main gun end and where does the pistol start?

The Longshot looks like a bizatch to even try to take apart. Any ideas on whether these guns will be stefan-compatible right out of the box?

I have a request:
The barrel scheme is kind of confusing. Could someone who did examine the gun please take that image and in paint draw lines seperating the different guns and showing the dart flow from the back through the front of the gun.

Could we get a simple diagram of the darts?

Man it's late, but here's your picture. I think this is correct, OMC can check in the morning. I know it was hard to see the gun split in that picture, but just look for the pistol grip near the end of the gun, or rather, right in front of where the bipod pivot is - and there's your split. It reminds me of a bulkier version of the D-T3 Pistol.

Still, the shell on the longshot looks like it's got all sorts of extra space in it.

Sheesh, considering how excited some of the people got over here...they'd probably be having a field day (if they aren't already, but I'm not looking. It's 12 freakin' 05 in the morning...*must sleep*

Speed'll probably end up getting a Magstrike eventually. If the clips are more sturdy than the PC's, then it will make an excellent replacement (considering your comments on their superior firepower).

The handle/trigger on the attaching pistol (the one on the longshot's front) reminds me a LOT of the Sharpshooter II's...

The yelow slider-looking thingy on the underside of the pistol looks like the Sharpshooter II's green barrel selector, too (considering it's position and all.) I'm just speculating, since I have no clue how many barrels it has (too tired to read through the thread, so shoot me) but that could prove to be very interesting. Starbuck'll go nuts...

Regarding the new darts...you say it is the same foam...

Does that mean that the foam is still orange, too?

God I hope so...I don't want to have to make a mad dash to the closest 15 Wal-Marts and raid them all of Dart Tag micros so that I can continue to supply myself with foam blanks for the next ten years (slight exaggeration...)

Shindig is to be thanked for keeping the thread from turning into a genuine fag-fest of who's online. WHO CARES? I'm reading this four hours after it began and I'm irritated already. Good save, buddy.

I'm excited about the line up, it gives everyone something to look forward to, and yes, I was eyeing up Shinny's powerclip before some financial commitments kept me from splurging on toys for now. But my son caught a glimpse of the Longshot, and now his PVC rifle doesn't look so hot anymore, despite the fact that it probably outshoots it, distance wise, by 3-4 times. That's fine...I'll take it.

The good thing of this is that he's already stashed away some bucks for this so there won't be as much begging for my VISA card as previously feared. Now I fear myself...I didn't even get a Dart Tag set yet and here comes the Magstrike...got me in the weak spot.

But I'm not going to soil my shorts over it...yet.

Props to the "Three Amigos". And to Hasbro for keepin' it FRESH.

No, they function and feed as a normal PC clip would.

Famine and I are wondering about the mechanics of the Longshot.

Does the bolt serve only to chamber a dart, or does it also cock the spring? We were concerned, since the draw length of the bolt looks about the same as that of the Eagle Eye.

Additionally, does the bolt handle extend out on both sides, to accomodate righties and lefties, or just on the right side?

Unfortunately, I'm assuming that it is indeed a one-motion action.

From what I gather, yes. The long barrel which extends through and connects the secondary to the main rifle, and the secondary's barrel.

Okay, now after putting those two pictures on the screensaver of my office comp, I'm intrigued and inquisitive.

Notice how long the "barrel" is on the Longshot. Judging by the location of the clip and the charging/ loading handle, that dart has a pretty long way to go before it leaves the barrel...or does it?

I'm guessing that some of that barrel might be "free float", kind of like how the Double Shot has fairly long barrels, but all of the power is basically from the couple inches of shell that the dart sits in; the rest is free air space that the dart flies through.

All speculation, as you know.
