I feel like we're going to turn into some gay emoband-esque entity.
Sell-outs suck.
Not in the game anymore, but it was great while it lasted. Thanks for the great years of fun, NH!

As for our game of assassins, this game has been a smash hit. We have all sorts of people; from the girl’s varsity basketball players to the classic rocker pothead kids. It has actually been breaking down social barriers, been are reaching out of the cliques. We began with 175 people, and as of right now have 45 remaining. Our game started with eight teams of 20 and two with 25 players. Once only 50 people were remaining we broke down the teams and the game entered free-for-all mode. For reasons of speed, we have decided to have mandatory checkpoints each weekend (i.e. every assassin must report to a zone and check in with an officer or be killed unless conditions prohibit the assassin). This game is extremely fun and I recommend it for anyone.

I'm probably pretty close in age to that police chief, and can say that running around with my kids (and the neighborhood kids) with plastic toy guns is a whole lot of fun, and healthy to boot.I read something in the paper a few days ago about police worrying about Nerf. The problem isn't the guns themselves (I think it was the police Chief that said "If I was that age I'm sure this would be great fun") but the fact that they're running around neighbourhoods with them. The guns don't look real... to most people. They're worried some old lady is gonna freak out and call the cops because some children are shooting each other.
My concern lies in the attitude and mannerisms which those in the interview will be conducting themselves. If the focus is to bring some light to the hobby of Nerfing and the subsequent campus craze that appears to be "Assassins", to alleviate any fears or worries about 'terrorists in training' or other dribble, then more power to you.
If your focus is to make some kind of name for yourselves, then I'd recommend re-checking your motives for accepting the interview. From what your website indicates, it is very successful (even one of the college deans got Nerfed

I'm wondering if the Student Activities Coordinator is aware of the "game", and possible benefits/ ramifications of allowing the game to go on, impact to class times, etc. Perhaps even having faculty (if any are in the game) to attest to the increase in morale/ positive effects of the assassin game played on campus.
I'd really be cautious about talking about modifications of Nerf blasters, other than basic "backyard" talk. There could be a precedent for trouble if some youngster sees your modified weapons and darts, tries something out, and puts out an eye or something with a pencil (you don't know how much that Penny Arcade comic strip pissed me off to no end.)
Enjoy the interview, let 'er rip, and do your campus and it's Assassin game proud. Don't tell anyone about us. I'd be sad to see Nerfing clumped up with the same stigma that paintball and AirSoft suffers today.

You don't read much threads, do you? There were at least three threads leading to a Penny Arcade comic strip...one even posted the strip on this forum. I won't even link it...you can find it. The strip shows pencils being shot, but anyone with a twisted imagination would probably be desperate to try nails, flaming candles, who knows what else.who would want to shoot nails first of all and second how do you shot nails out of a nerf gun.

I hope to God Almighty that you're kidding.Sweet. This will be one step further to making Nerf a more commericialised sport. I will watch the Interview, as others will too.
When that happens, I'll have to move toward catapaults or trebuchets or some medival weaponry for my kids. God forbid.
Good luck with the interview, dudes. Do the hobby good. I watch FOX National news so hopefully it'll go more than just local (for your area).
EDIT: some facts fixed.

You think that is twisted? Me and my brother got wood cylinders (from home depot) almost 1/2" wide in diameter put some e-tape around it to make it even more air tight and for a snug fit in 1/2" CPVC. If used in my my CPVC modded Titan (with stock internals to boot) it will go striaght through two cardbaord boxes, that means it penetrated 4 layers of cardboard. The strip shows pencils being shot, but anyone with a twisted imagination would probably be desperate to try nails, flaming candles, who knows what else.

Now we are working on putting a sharp nail at the tip of it.

And to clear it up; I do not shoot these at anyone or anything besides cardboard boxes, styrofoam and things like that.

Is this game on a high school or college campus? If it's a college campus, where should I be filling out my transfer application to?

My favorite was the time someone called the cops on us and said that, "Kids are running around in the park with Harpoon Guns and Bazookas!"As usual, my comments will just echo what Piney said. Don't fuck anything up for the rest of us. The NJ crew has yet to be kicked out of any park we've been to, and I don't want to start now.

Somehow, some way, whenever someone calls a CrossBow a "harpoon" gun, it makes me fall off my chair. God forbid if they saw a modded Big Bad Bow.The Infinite Shindig, on Feb 23 2006, 06:49 AM, said:

I stand corrected; you Assassin guys are high schoolers. Even more cool.
Hope the interviews went well.
