Ive been to a few aquariums(sp?) and Ive seen PETG at everyone. The best fit for my darts are 9 16 and Ive made a breech using all the sizes Ive bought. I dont meen to take down OMCs PETG sales but I thought I would help out some others that dont feel very comfortable buying online(Im not scared anymore! yay! ).

That's what I've been using for quite a while. However the 20' bag will only make around 90 darts. The 250' spool on the other hand will make 1200 darts. ^_^

That depends on how short you cut your darts. i cut them to 1.5 inchs and get 160 darts.

Hey how does the mcmaster foam fit in cpvc/ 17/32" brass and medium walled OMC PETG?

I also found 100 mini glue sticks at A.C. Moore's for 5.99. They heat up EXTREMELY quickly, so if you want to use them to make darts you'll need a low temp glue gun, atleast if you don't want to have to unplug it every minute.

I also found that the 3/8" Frost King foam fits OMC medium walled PETG, 17/32" brass, and CPVC well when straightened in a drier (clothes drier). I know that the Frost King foam comes from different factories so this may not be true near you, but just so people know. Also I live in MA.

I HATE Forst King 1/2 inch FBR. Mine was so big it couldn't fit in 9.16ths brass it was so tight! Fit nice in 19/32 brass real nice though.

I never thought of buying 3/8 inch. Is it similar OD to Angels Red FBR?

Yes. I've never had his exact foam, but I've had red foam that seems to be the same diameter, atleast comparing it to the fit people say FA's foam is. It's a little more costly, but onyl 2.49 for like 120 darts. Not bad. And yeah I hate the Frost King 1/2".

VERY very well. Thinwall PETG is what I use for most of my guns. As do VACC, OMC, and Groove who all seem to like my darts.

unless you use 1/2" BRASS for your barrels(which is ridiculously small), don't buy 3/8" FBR bc it is very very tiny, smaller than 1/2"FBR.

I use 1/2" FBR for 9/16" brass and crayola barrels and then I use 5/8" FBR for 1/2" PVC and CPVC

He's probably referring the 1/2 size SCH40 pipe which you can buy made from the materials PVC Type I and CoPolymerVinylChloride, which abbreviates unfortunately to the same thing as Copper-sized PVC. Plumbing supply product names are retardedly confusing.
regardless of the material it's made out of, 1/2 size SCH40 pipe will have an ID close to .604"

I just ran out to my local hardware store and got a tougher spring, better o-rings, and some 1/2" FBR all for use in my Nite Finder. It shoots about 60 feet. I guess I'm lucky. My dad has a whole bunch of tools, so I never have to worry about if I can make it.

There is also 3/4 in cpvc. I've seen it at ACE, but I haven't tried it.

I've checked metal shops, hobby shops, and my final resort was ACE. Everyone says you can find 17/32 brass at ACE, but I have called them and they said they didn't have any! Their site said the same. I'm absolutely stuck! Where(besides the internet)can I find brass? Or, if someone could, give me a link to the part on ACE's website, assuming there is one, that shows that they carry 17/32 brass.

I've heard some people say they can't find brass at their Ace. Ask them for "K&S" metals. It is in the hardware section by the springs. It should be obvious when you see it, as the brass sticks out in the box.

ACE, Home Depot, sometimes Lowes, pretty much whatever hardware store you have around you. These stores don't always have the same inventory, so the only place that will consistantly have springs is an online store such as McMaster-Carr.

I have had very varrying experiences with ACE foam. I am now out and need a new roll of 1/2" foam to fit in 17/32" brass. I checked my local ACE and their foam was more suitable for CPVC. Does Home Depot have good foam? If not, who does?

Home Depot foam used to be too big for even 9/16ths brass. My brand new batch is different: It is a tad
smaller than fa24 foam, but bigger than Ace foam. Batchs vary though.

You bought the Frost King brand right? Yeah, their foam is variable.
