Now I know I have another topic about this but I didnt want to post on an old topic.
This weekend I have gone garage saleing and have found alot of coo stuff:
- An RF 20 for a dollar with no darts and like new
- A full auto uzi airsoft gun which I also got for a dollar
- And an XP 270 Super Soaker

I bought the Super Soaker to open up and see if maybe I could mod it to shoot nerf darts because I have heard a few good things about them.
I want to do basically what kickass_jb did to his SS.
I think I have to saw off the nozzle and put some half inch CPVC as a barrel...
But since its newer, it has an extra little sphereical chamber in front of the water tank. I dont know what to do with this... Chop it off, or do I need it...

I' m just wondering if anybody has done this mod before to this super soaker and if it is effective or not. I want to be able to achieve high ranges without having pump it a whole crap load.

Image of gun. Mines the same but black and blue.

Help is appreciated...

I think I heard somewhere about it not being very good when modded. But that handle is sooo fucking comfortable as shit on a AT2K.

No, you use the Super Soaker handle on an AT2K.
Works wonders for me.

Why would you want to do that? The AT2k Pump handle is fine... Its the AT3k that has a shitty pump handle. Its hard to pump.

Can you get me a pic of the internals, might better to help you with the sphere thingy. Also, does it have a pin-valve or ball-valve? Ball-valve I wouldn't know how to mod but a pin-valve is easy. Just chop everything off from the valve till it looks like one from an AT2K, then rip off the tubing that leads to the water tank and the one leading from the pump, replace both to bypass water tank and Voila! My tube was about 9" long and since my pump was so big it worked wonders. Post here or PM me if you need any help.

You are going to have to wait alittle bit till Monday for the pictures.
Currentally I' am residing in my grandfathers house because my parents are in Vegas and dont get back till late tonite and my digital cam is at home so you will just have to wait for a while for me to get home.
Kickass_jb, if you look at the picture you can see what the sphere thingy is and where it is located on the gun. Is this used for compressing air or something?

Is it front of, behind, or part of valve?I assume there is a tube from the pump to the water tank, then a tube from that to the sphere then a tube from the sphere to the vavle?

That's the pressure chamber. Cutting that out would be dumb - instead simply remove the water reservoir (it's held in by screws and an O-ring).

I recommend a homemade Nerf dart gun over any Super Soaker modified to shoot Nerf darts also. :P

Actually, I modded one of mine (CPS 120) and did get but 80 feet with 150 pumps. So I scrapped the valve and pump.

Think about it, if you had that large of an airtank, it would take too many pumps to prime thus losing the whole point of the mod. The only "tank" there should be is a piece of vinyl tubing long enough to connect the pump to the valve. Call it stupid but I got 80ft on 2 pumps and 120ft on 5 pumps

I thought your basic homemade took too many pumps to prime with the tire pump or bike pump.
Heres a crappy MS paint drawing of what it looks like on the inside...

Okay good, it's a pin valve. Are those tubes you drew actual vinyl tubes or are they hard, rigid plastic pipes (like pvc almost)?

Very quick, but this is basically what you want to do. Green is all the stuff you don't need, you can always glue it onto the shell after for looks or what not. The blue is the vinyl tubing (your air tank). The tube should come from where the air is exiting the pump and if the original was piping not tube then just cut at the redline (or just somewhere close to the valve) and stick the other end of the tube in there and goop it up. If it was tubing, just rip the tubing from the valve and glue your new tubing there. Hope this helps enough.

Actually, go ahead and cut the air tank off too. Then, attach a 3 inch piece of 1 inch PVC with a cap on it with hotglue and dip it in epoxy up to its' valve to seal all leaks. Let it drip dry until to next evening and I would say you havea pretty nice weapon.

I also have a modded Super Soaker, the CPS 2700 Cut the nozzle off and shove 1/2" sch 40 PVC down the barrel (fits perfectly). 23 pumps with stock micros = 116ft flat, 160ft angled at 45 degrees.

Hmm, I wonder why it took mine so much just for 80 feet. Did you plug the release valve on yours'? If so then that is my problem. I don't have one on mine.

The valve has not been plugged, it all has to do with how many ml/second the gun can put out. Go to isoaker.com's armoury to find out more.

Would that be another air tank?

EDIT: ooops replyed to this:

Hold on as I get my dig cam and I'll take real pics...

EDIT: Alright I got pics:

So you want me to cut at the red line and add vinyl at the blue.
Do you have any idea what size vinyl or does it matter?

My tubing was 1/4" ID, basically the closest I could find to the AT2K (just had thicker walls). More or less, you want a tubing that will into the stock piping. It's okay if it's a little loose, you can always goop it up.

Yes, I have some 1/4" vinyl.
Do I have to use Plumbers Goop or can I just use hot glue?

It MUST be plumbers goop. I tried it first with hot glue to save some money and it leaked on the first try.

I cut at the red and add vinyl at the blue.

Which one do I do?
The first one magnified or the second one magnified?

You are going to want t odo that anyways, but I think you should put 1/inch tubing where the older air chamber is. Cut that off so there is only a valve and replace it with vinyl or PVC. Remember to use epoxy.
