So... which mod writeup do you want to see first?

p.s.; The First Shot is the only spring gun my six year old can cock on his own. (He can pump his 1500, but only two times.)

Uh... yeah.
I'm curious why people are voting xbow. Is it because you don't like the way current xbow mods are written up or because you'd like to see something completely new for the gun?

As a point of fact, I do.I'd like to see what you'd do to a Crossbow. Probably just brasseage, but I never know. You do, I assume.
I'm going to craft a plunger shaft replacement out of various metals.
I'm going to craft a plunger head replacement with a more durable and efficient o-ring design.
I'm going to replace the spring with one that will do the job without banding.
I'm going to reinforce the case to withstand the force exerted on it by the new spring.
I'm going to make a telescoped brass breech-loading barrel similar to my Max Shot mod but with an extra level of nesting to get every last bit of power out of this thing.
I'm going to do the above with readily available materials and describe it such that any fool with a local hardware store and $10 can repeat my mod.
But it seems the First Shot is winning...

Holy crap, do that instead.:Snip:

Hmm, I'd like to see the O-ring design. I've done.. Well, everything there except the telescoping barrel and homemade plunger head, but I haven't done it that well (Probably not worth documentation)... So I'd love to see your ideas....I'm going to do the above with readily available materials and describe it such that any fool with a local hardware store and $10 can repeat my mod.
But if it's the First Shot, it doesn't matter much.. It will be on the presses soon enough. Good luck with your mods Cx.

No, but I have a big [BLEEP] gun. That's good enough for me!

If anyone was wondering, I'm RoboNerfer from NO. And I'm U.n.c.u.T.! on NerfHQ.

I'll write up the Jango Fett as time permits but here's the short version.
The air volume in the gun was extremely low so they used a pole for air delivery. I knew I'd need to increase volume and speed of air delivery to make it compatible with micro stefans and a proper barrel.
Stretched the spring by about 50% and heat tempered it.
Increased the plunger travel by about 50% by reducing the plunger head length (yeah, funky design) by 1.75" and replacing the plunger shaft to allow for the longer travel.
Gave it a nested brass barrel.
Before: ~12' flat with Nerf micros
After: ~30+' flat with stefan micros
Not quite an LnL or SSII competitor but adequate range for a sidearm.

edit: i figure you'd like to see inside the gun that haunts your very nerfing existence.

Since I've more or less finished a preliminary TTTBow mod I'll go ahead and seal that up and range test it next, though that gun will probably get re-modded in the future when I have time to play with it more. I'm not convinced that barrel-replacement is the only thing I can do with this gun.
After that I'll do the xbow and ssII in parallel. I want to have them both done by Armageddon so all four of these writeups should be done in a month or less.
I already bought the threaded rod, nuts, washers, brass tubing (3 sizes), brass sheet, o-rings, plunger head, and spring for the xbow mod so it's just down to the measuring, cutting, and final assembly for that one.
The ssII will unfortunately have to be a single-barrel mod because my air valve housing is cracked in a couple places and I don't want to deal with trying to repair it. I think the ssII can be a LnL killer anyhow so I'm going to turn it into my sidearm.
Hum. Come to think of it, the First Shot could end up being an LnL killer too. Much fun.

Tell me more of this plunger head.. Like its normal use and such. I can wait for the writeup, just be sure to include it. This was always the part that annoyed me.

Max: 67', 5"
Avg: 55', 0"
Min: 45', 8"
Definitely holds it's own against any spring pistol out there. The extremely solid catch mechanism is a plus for people who want to run around with it cocked and holstered. Overall I think I like it better than the LnL.

And if its not to late, i think you should go with the SSII. Mainly because its probably the most common nerf gun, therefore the most people would use its mod.

I'm going to do the xbow and SSII in parallel as soon as I close up the TTTBow and test it. They'll all be done in short order.
I'll write something about the jango fett blaster in a couple days.
