My aunt is involved in the press and got a chance to go to E3. Here's some publicity shots of the next gen consoles that I thought I'd share with you guys.

Never thought I'd see the day when Nintendo shipped (in the US) with standard format optical media.

Revolution or the PS3 are probably gonna come out on top. I like them except for that PS3 controller which looks more like a boomerang than a controller. :D

And nintendo came back from the dead, after a sub-par gamecube, this is looking good...especially because the online service lets you download and game from their library(nes, snes, n64, etc.)

Oh, had to post this too:

I never thought I'd be physically attracted to a game consol, especially a Nintendo product. :D

..not saying I am or anything.

Uh, I'm getting tired of all this futuristic stuff. I wish they would have kept atleast the Xbox similar to how it was.

I really like the look of the Revoloution but will probably get the 360 just for Halo 3 and Perfect Dark Zero. I'm diggin' the downloadable games for Revoloution though.
Does anybody know what the price ranges will be?

I forget now what the site was, but I just Googled "Nintendo Revolution" about a month ago, and I found some great info on it. I believe the price was around $300.00 for the Revolution, but I could be wrong. It will have 1,024 bit sound and graphics. Think of the NES, and multiply its capacity by 128. I'm amazed how far video gaming has come in the last twenty or so years.

And yeah, the PS3 controller does look like a boomerang. Nasty, but I bet it will be a nice system, and they'll probably make different looking controllers like they have with other systems. I can't wait to see the next Zelda game(s), I mean the one(s) for the Revolution. That thing is sexy.

EDIT: Here's some more info. According to the article, the Revolution will be only about the thickness of three DVD cases and "not much longer." The smallest home game console from them so far.

That's not a controller port is it?. I thought it was a sensor for the wireless controllers. They might all be wireless...and it looks like they all connect to that one black panel sensor.

Both XBOX360 and Revolution have 4 wireless controller ports.

The PS3 has 8 wireless spot. :P Also you can hook it up to 2 tv's at once and have either gameplay similar to Nintendo DS's dual screens(minus the touching) or have 4 on each screen. Pretty awesome stuff.

I liked the PS2 because of the great third-party support, but I really don't know what I want now, the Revolution or PS3.

Stunned.

JKaz, I think the PS3 controller is sweet. I must say, though, with the advancement of digital technology exponentially shooting up and VR on the rise, I'll be expecting some kickass systems in a few years.

Hmmm, being able to use 8 wireless controllers at the same time for the PS3 sounds like it would be awesome.

I don't know if our friend can do such a task, so I'll try to do it.

I think the 360 will topple Sony simply because of its raw technical power. It's got a custom ATI chip that is a generation ahead of the cards that are top of the line today (if that makes any sense to you guys, you're geniuses.). Anyways, the 360 is very customizable, which will be a BIG go-getter for the fringe players and the hardcore alike. Also, it's got three 3.2 GHz processors. More information on the system can be found here.

Man..That X-box 360 looks fugly. The ps3 looks really cool. Nintendo on the other hand is a bit strange.. It looks good but is really bland.

So has Nintendo finally gone to full size discs? Or are they still screwing around with those small things.. (forgive me, im not a technology geek)

Have you looked at the specs for both? PS3 is actually a little more powerful (the graphics card is better than 2 hi-end Nvidia cards) but it doesn't really matter, just how the developers use it. I don't think any company except Treasure will attempt to really max out the system in their games.

You won't really be able to tell which is most powerful until they're played this winter.

Wow. Those look awesome. No more controller cables tangled. I'm leaning towards the 360 if I get one.

but it doesn't really matter, just how the developers use it.

That's my opinion, in a nutshell.

I've never given half a shit about the hardware's supposed performance. The ability to render a game in breathtaking detail doesn't make the game interesting or fun to play. The console that attracts the best developers and scores the biggest franchises will eventually win.

For the record, the three systems I own are xbox, N64, and NES. I still play all three fairly regularly because I keep coming back to KotOR, Zelda:OoT, and Castlevania, respectively. Castlevania is crack.
