I'm just saying that a inexperienced nerfer going into a war with a well modded supermaxx 1500 is probably going to beat the veteran with an unmodded one.

Good reasoning, but actually I doubt that would be the case. See, veteran nerfers pratice with their gun so they understand where a dart goes at what angle and how to old the gun to deliver an accurate shot, so while an inexperienced nerfer with a more powerful gun might have the advantage of shots that are harder to dodge and longer range, it doesn't necessarily convert into skill. If the inexperienced nerfer has practiced with his modded gun then he isn't exactly inexperienced anymore is he? (or she to be PC). Batman is quite trained with the equipment he has.

This topic is about straps and holsters, right? Never really found straps helpful, but holsters is another story. Well here's my stance. Anyone who has played with me sees that I look like a fag with 3-5 shots on me at all times. Here's the thing; while some of you can't even imagine that sight, I DO actaully know how to work them. My crossbow has its primary shot as well as a 1500 built into it (picture a grenade launcher on an M16 for the look). Besides that, I integrated the clip from the titan that holds on the scout, and it now if glued onto my xbow and works to hold on my modded NF. I also wear a thigh holster for a LnL or another NF. Here's how it all works.

I take a shot with my 1500, cause that is the one with the best distance. Chances are I will miss, so next I take aim with the crossbow itself, and I usually hit that. However, if I am at a disadvantage, I can grab the NF off my xbow, drop it, and grab my other LnL with ease and chase down an opponent or two. If I am taken out here, yes I have to go back and grab all that and reload, but the other team is so hell bent on getting me that I can usually get it all back before I clear in. I can't clear in around the mob of the other team. It works for me and I can usually get 1-3 kills per chance. Do the math, if you other teammates can pull their weight and go kill for death evenly, while I get at least one more kill than death, WE WIN.

If you understand that, that's awesome, cause I'm having a hard time myself with it. Here's the deal, it's just how I play. It's so much easier to see me do it than to explain it. It works for me, even though you would never think someone like me could pull off moves like that in a hundred years. I really lost my train of thought here, so......

Don't feed the admins

Much Love from potentially the second largest nerfer (by sheer girth) in our community

OMC - "so named cause he once ate an entire clan" That still cracks me up to this day.....

Also, while you've got your finger on the button Talio, who the fuck keeps posting all these crazy ass "war stories" with asinine titles that took over NH and NHQ's main page for the past couple days. Does Tom Clancy's retarded half brother have an account on this site or something? If I look at one more of these, I'm going postal.

I don't plan on spending all my time arguing with a Canadian, however...

Okay, now your not just being an idiot, your being racist too.

You tell everybody what to do like your god, and if any of them have a different oppinion, you try your best to crush it.

Black Wrath didn't do anything wrong, you just suspended him because he was making you look bad. He's a good member, and a contributor too. Now we won't be seeing him here for 90 days.

On the topic of holsters and straps:

Holsters can be quite useful, in fact I have found a great use for them in integrations. Holsters allow you to integrate guns to parts of other guns, but still allow you to use the gun in the holster alone. You can put a holster on the bottom-front of a Crossbow and put a SplitFire in it - instant RoF increase, but you can still use the SplitFire alone if you wanted to.

I don't really use straps. If I need a strap to carry around my gun(s), then the gun(s) are too big and heavy, or I have too many of them. Straps are unweildy. This is why I love integrations. You can be creative and increase your RoF without too much unweildy-ness. For example, instead of carrying around 3 different guns you could integrate them all into one. No need for a strap now!

Tally-ho

Looks like our administrator has a bit of an anger management problem, no?

That was a bullshit suspension. Your suspension of Black Wrath (he's Camblam right?) is just a sign of you losing your cool. It just makes the rest of us see more clearly how much of an assclown you are.

Black Wrath is one of the most helpful people on this forum, especially compared to you. I do not recall one time when you've helped me. Hell, you don't even respond to my PM's. Black Wrath posted the best write-up of a holster EVER. Every single step was recorded - there were 45 pictures! I don't see one time you've actually contributed here.

Thank you for suspending one of the most helpful members here. Ass.

Interesting.

Most interesting.

Black Wrath, despite the suspension, I'm going to give you any opportunity to defend yourself/ counter what I have to say; please e-mail me at worshipmonster@lycos.com with any comments. I will post them here in their entirety.

Ya know, I'm going to side with Talio on this one, only because I know what kind of guy he is. Many of you don't know that he works sometimes way over the "normal" 40 hour work week, makes the ends meet, and once in a while tries to have a social life, which includes Nerf. Then, he does his best to check up on the forums. Unlike many of the younger users, who have things given to them like Nerf blasters, Internet service, and other such luxuries (like having meals served to you and your laundry done by Mom), so many of you have lots of spare time to burn here. I know I don't. Neither does Talio.

I don't think Talio has an anger problem. Anyone whose been on NH or NHQ knows that that is his personality style, a bit abrasive and to the point. If anyone, and I mean ANYONE, has a problem with that in an administrative fashion, I'd recommend going to the owner of the site, cxwq, and letting him know about it. Ragging here did little except to cause the snowball effect to happen.

Hold up. Carbine? You mean a light rifle? What the fuck? It's a Nerf gun for god sakes! It's already light. If you need it to be lighter, you need to do a push up or something. Grow a pair brother.

As for straps and holsters, to much hassle and stuff. Carry one gun. Put a pistol in your pocket if it's single shot. Past that, it ain't gonna help you. Trust me, Rambo took it to the extreme with that shit and it never helped.

Yeah, the "grow a pair" comment could have been omitted, but see, that last sentence in his post explains it all. Tally has SEEN and probably even experienced the fact that carrying a bunch of blasters won't make you any more effective at the game then if you carried one, some ammo, and made sure you were 'bloody' good with it.

Granted, maybe the way you Canadians play your game may be different than their way, but last time I checked, most styles (West Coasters, East Coasters, Midwesterners, Southern boys ('n gal) had a run and gun style that I'm pretty familiar with. The only time I ever carry anything other than my primary (1500/Tooth, SM5k, AT2k nowadays) is a NiteFinder, and that's only if I'm wearing pants with cargo pockets. Any other method and I lose pieces. Literally.

Friend, this is the kind of stuff that just starts the snowball rolling.

Black Wrath, you don't have an anger problem.

You have an authority problem. With Talio.

Your insinuations about him having no life except for Nerf, and the "game", and trying to correct spelling, punctuation, and locutional errors in his posts, which I assume were typed out at breakneck speed, with a little bit of offense...were those really necessary?

And it didn't help much for the rest of the wussies who normally stay silent, until the ball started to roll, then a couple of you couldn't seem to shut up. That's the biggest display of cowardice I could imagine on a forum board. Really.

My interests lie in trying to best myself in modifications and innovations, not rolling around on the grass better than someone else.

My question is; is that the sentiments of the entire CFM clan? Or just yours?

Reason being, I have read entire threads that took on the makings of AIM on NerfHaven, of CFM members talking smack about laying down hurt, and other such "tough guy" nerf war conversations.

I know that you know that playing the game is more than "rolling around in the grass"; in fact, I almost never hit the ground, except when I slip and fall. All that imitating stuff like on the movies and TV and video games that many of you out there play (way too much) is just not my idea of Nerfing, though I have seen a few exceptions, as I'm sure you have too.

You're telling me that if I ever want to be a man, I have to be good at running around shooting little foam cylinders out of a pneumatic weapon designed for kids in the age range of 5-12.

If you honestly think that this is a game for ONLY 5 - 12 year old children, why are you even here on this site? I've seen your work with your 5k; it's great to see a practical bolt-action reloading system! Well thought out and the write up was top drawer. And your holster write up...superb!

But why even bother if you think that it's "only for little kids"?

You taunted Talio, you wanted the last word in, then dared him to suspend you. Talio obliged.

When I say on NHQ, "ban me if you will", I damn mean it. When it comes down to it, I don't believe in making idle statements, especially when it affects my ability to exercise sound opinion on a Nerf forum. When they're ready, they'll mute/ ban me.

I didn't quote Talio much here, because what I'm going to say now should apply to all of us on the forum board. All this talk about who has more testosterone coursing through their veins, it's obvious that cxwq and I are the winners there...we have some kids to prove it.

But all kidding aside, heed this piece of advice if you will.

The biggest sign of maturity, call it what you want, most testosterone, etc. is not by how badly you can insult each other, or how much you can criticize each other. It really is how much SELF-CONTROL you can demonstrate on the boards, especially when one is offering advice, or correction that you may or may not agree with. Flaming gets no one anywhere. Ever. If you want respect, show it first. Show it even when the other guys don't. You'll earn it, one way or another.

I do not share the same sentiments about holsters and straps; I made that pretty clear on NHQ. I really thought I could escape the bull-crap I hear from folks who still think that Nerfing is a mil-sim game, by staying here at the Haven.

I'm just saddened that BW had to be suspended, though but 90 days, and that Tally has to be dared and taunted to the point of taking drastic action with some of you.

Frick. We should just buy a round of brewski's and move on.

I think it's more or less just people aren't used to dealing with someone as to-the-point as Talio is. I'm still bugged by it, but you learn to deal with it.

I'll chip in for the Brewski's. Sadly, I'm not old enough- I say we meet up in China, or some other obscure country with no drinking laws and have ourselves a good ol' party.

Well, I skipped half the posts because of the argument... but here's my reply anyway.

I have a strap on my main (crossbow) and I have a holster attatched to the side of my main that holds a sidearm (LnL). It works pretty well for me, keeps both guns entirely accessible and allows me to fire the sidearm while in the holster. The barrel to the main and the sidearm are lined up pretty well, so I don't really even have to re-aim for a second shot unless I pull the sidearm from its holster.

That holster that was posted (Black Wrath's holster?) is very similair to the holster design we have been using for years that was originally written up by Stealthblade (I believe... if it wasn't her it was Eric the pirate, but I'm fairly sure it was Stealth).

I use niether. If I need to holster a pistol, I just use pockets, but I just go dual pistols and call it a day. Rambo had straps on guns, and the rest in a duffel bag, and you can ask him how well it worked out....Too many guns is just a Hassle unless you happen to be The Mighty Hershâ„¢.

Aaaand Talio doesn't have anger problems, if you think that you read too much into it. Talio usually doesnt have much emotion on his posts, he says it like it is, and that was a pretty useless argument. It proved absolutely nothing. In good time, you will learn Tally is gawd. Suck that BW had to be suspended, but he flippin' asked for it. ANd those of you who are mad at Talio, remember its a nerf forum, we dont have anything to prove.

All I can say is...I love Talio. I know, I know...FELONY!:rolls eyes:

Alrighty, Shall we get back on topic.
For smaller weapons that are more of pistols I would say holster. For bigger weapons (BBB, Crossbow, Titan, ect...) I would use a strap. But it's your own preference really.

Piney, you couldn't have settled a skirmish better. I had fun reading the whole argument though.

*ON TOPIC* I would use only one strap for my 1500, and maybe a holster for my NF. I tend to be very mobile, and I sneak a lot. They call me "Stealthstreakerflash", as sometimes I am seen naked with a big smile on my face, sprinting for the woods to run with the wolves, silently of course. I really don't want anything that clumsy, but to be able to draw a weapon quickly is a virtue.

I've used holsters for my NF when I'm using it as a sidearm, but I dont generally use straps. My main reason is that these guns are too light. The only time that I've used a strap was back in the days of my integration, Claudia, only because she weighed about as much as Evil's Daemon.(For those that don't know them, they weighed qiute a biut for Nerf guns.) Basically, If we were using real rifles or even paintball guns, straps might be useful because of their weight, but most of these guns weigh about 1-2 lbs, so you dont really need a strap to carry them. And for those that ask "what if you need your sidearm?" I only use my sidearm if I'm reloading my primary and I get rushed. You only need one hand to fire an NF accurately, and you really shouldnt need to reload your sidearm before your primary.

Don't generalize man, last game I played was a crazy skills ffa, in which I used my tech target and own ass. Now the way them Ontario people nerf might be differn't, but please don't make make such a massive generalization.

As for the topic at hand I use a holster of Black Wraiths design, for my NF, because I got tired of having my side arm stuck in my pocket while I'm being charged. As for strapes I've never felt the need to use one in my humble opinion if I'm using more than to the impedement to mobility is to great to be worth the extra fire power, and when the time comes to haul ass all those guns do nothing but slow you down.

I use a night finder with a holster like BW's. I also use a strap on my crossbow/at2k. I use the strap to secure it across my back when im using my Nf.
