Do you use holsters or straps? I voted for both because I use a holster for my nite finder and a strap for my spitfire.

I suppose I should have voted 'neither' because I haven't made them yet, but I voted 'both.' I'm a little bit new to serious Nerfing, but when I get around to it, I intend to make a holster for my Nite Finder and a strap for my Double Shot.

I have a strap for my Maxshot and my SM5k, a holster for my Ln'L, and a holster in the works for a NF.

Doctorsparkles, if you want to make yourself a holster, may I suggest my tutorial? I can't seem to find the topic anywhere on the boards, after about 12 minutes of searching.

Anyways,

I like the way I can just sling my Maxshot over my shoulder, carry my SM5k in my hands, and have my Ln'L on my thigh. It makes everything easily accessible.

I use a strap for my BBB carbine. I don't use a holster anymore since I came up with a clip so I can clip my SSII to anything.

Here it is Black Wraths Holster

Holsters and straps make guns accessible and be able to not have to hold it.

EDIT;Starbuck, how well does your clip work? Does it ever fall off?

I am not much of a sidearm person, I usually have either dual NFs or just a loser with a scout. (which fits in my pocket)

I voted for strap, but now that I think of it I sometimes use a kind of holster. I have one strap that I'll use on my blastfire, BBB, or SM1500 if I feel the urge to carry a side arm. My sidearm (if I carry one, which is rare) goes in my pocket, but occasionally I use a sony pouch that is supposed to be used to carry a CD player and CDs. One pocket can be used to hold darts, the other for a sidearm, and the whole pouch held over a shoulder. I usually only use one gun though, it makes things so much simpler.

Hold up. Carbine? You mean a light rifle? What the fuck? It's a Nerf gun for god sakes! It's already light. If you need it to be lighter, you need to do a push up or something. Grow a pair brother.

As for straps and holsters, to much hassle and stuff. Carry one gun. Put a pistol in your pocket if it's single shot. Past that, it ain't gonna help you. Trust me, Rambo took it to the extreme with that shit and it never helped.

Step one - get some skill.

Step two - grow some balls.

Step three - get the gear.

Step four - realize step three is bullshit.

From what I can tell, most of you are still working on step one.

Im sorry, but shooting something with a foam dart out of a plastic gun doesnt require any "skill". Modifications do, firing doesn't.

My cousins in DC had a BBB, and when we warred with their guns I had a holster for it(not really deserving of a strap)

The only guns I've used straps for are monsters like the RF20 or Powerclip.

~That time of the month Rant~

I guess you've got all the skills that everyone else must aspire to, right? You're the ultimate, and we're the little "grasshoppers" who have to look up to you and tell their friends: "I wanna be just like Talio when I grow up.".

Right?

Sounds to me like you can't make yourself a holster, so you'd rather shoot down others for wanting to try something new to help their game out a little bit.

I'd like to ask what Rambo has to do with any of this.

First part is right, I have attained alot of skill and alot of experience. I've played since I was nine, most of that time being unmodded. I've been to almost 30 wars in less then two years and have played successfully as a strong player, occasionally dominant at all of them. So if you guys want to challange me sometime, by all means, make the trip. Unless you're willing to do that I would appreciate a little respect.

And if you think playing doesn't take any skill, that;s more then likely because no one you play with has any.

I never really said anything about a single holster actually. I've thought about making them from time to time, and it would be really nice to have one for an AT 2k, however I haven't found a situtaion yet where I think it would help me to use an AT2k as a sidearm. Other then the 3k, which I flat out just haven't gotten around to, I can't think of a gun that can put the AT2k into the postion of second fiddle.

One more thing, for those of you who have been doing alot of sass back lately, you can't learn anything unless you listen. You give me shit for telling you to work on your game before you're gear without even so much as giving it a second thought. That's the problem with this game. You Nerf twice and you're an expert. Now by all means, keep it up, but untill you get out and play, learn from guys who have some real basis and expirience behind what they say, you'll never really get past just running around and shooting each other. If that's your thing, so be it, but don't give me shit because I try to give advice cattering to others.

And stop sassing back or I might have to test out a few buttons on the admin panel.

Now now Talio.

The thing that I've come to realize with you is this; Nerf is your life blood. I never gave it much thought before, but now I realize that the reason you "try to give advice" and try to "help us out" with "tough love" is because you can't see past the fact that Nerf is a hobby; a game. It's nothing more.

Building skills in a game such as Nerf is only for the most dedicated, I would say. My interests lie in trying to best myself in modifications and innovations, not rolling around on the grass better than someone else. Everyone takes something from Nerf, but you are the one who stands up and says that your part is the best and only part.

I think if you can read the bloody control panel, you could try out some of those buttons. I don't think you'll be able to do that until you discover the difference between "your" and "you're". One is a possessive word, and one is a contraction of "you are". Can you figure out which one it is?

Before you go off on your little hissy fit some more, think about what you're saying. You're telling me that if I ever want to be a man, I have to be good at running around shooting little foam cylinders out of a pneumatic weapon designed for kids in the age range of 5-12.

Think about what you really want to say to me.

Now hold on, we're arguing about whether playing skill or modification skill is more important in a nerf war? Sounds like they're about equal to me. I honestly don't see any credible reason to argue this point.

I call it a carbine because I cut the excess stuff off. This makes it more compact. Since real carbines are a cut down version of the larger rifle, I called it a carbine. So, get off my nuts.

Navy Seal, my clip works really well. It's never fallen off when I've been running.

I'm not going to get into this too much because I've been pretty busy lately, and have just gotten some time to put towards this site. I don't plan on spending all my time arguing with a Canadian, however, being that you are still not showing any respect for me, while I have shown you respect pointing out that running around and shooting people is a part of the game, however one that I don't partically care for:

Now by all means, keep it up, but untill you get out and play, learn from guys who have some real basis and expirience behind what they say, you'll never really get past just running around and shooting each other. If that's your thing, so be it, but don't give me shit because I try to give advice cattering to others.

Get the point? If you want to do that, fine. But there are some that don't, and for those people, I give advice. Don't jump down my throat because you approach the game differenly. If you're into modifying and just Nerf for something to do, so be it. But I could care less abotu mods, I like being out of the field, getting exercise and pumping some adreniline through my viens. I'm sorry if that doesn't do it for you, but pleese don't get hostile with me because I'm trying to hand out some decent and firmly based advice to guys who may just be getting something out of it.

The thing that I've come to realize with you is this; Nerf is your life blood. I never gave it much thought before, but now I realize that the reason you "try to give advice" and try to "help us out" with "tough love" is because you can't see past the fact that Nerf is a hobby; a game. It's nothing more.

Actually my work is my life blood. Nerf doesn't pay the bills and I don't spend nearly as much time and energy on it as much as I do my carreer. So don't go throwing around big words when you don't know me. I'll give you one thing, I really like the adreline rush I get from playing. I don't think anything compares to the feeling you get from dodging 12 darts and somehow still landing you're shot. There certianly are better things and more important things in life, but none of them are quite the same. Again, if it's not you're thing so be it, but you wouldn't understand.

Building skills in a game such as Nerf is only for the most dedicated, I would say. My interests lie in trying to best myself in modifications and innovations, not rolling around on the grass better than someone else. Everyone takes something from Nerf, but you are the one who stands up and says that your part is the best and only part.

On the field, the players who Nerf for the game really do control things. I admire those who spend more energy on Modifications, but it's not my thing. Probably because I don't really find enjoyment from spending my free time fiddling with guns. Past that, I never claimed that one experience was better then the other, however on the field, I've never seen anything that's proven otherwise. Perhaps someday I will.

I think if you can read the bloody control panel, you could try out some of those buttons. I don't think you'll be able to do that until you discover the diffence between "your" and "you're". One is a possessive word, and one is a contraction of "you are". Can you figure out which one it is?

Vacc put it best when he said you really should bitch about someone grammar if you perfectly understood what he said. I apologize for the typo's, however I think you should be more confident in your arguement then reducing yourself to correcting my grammar. You understood me, so what's the problem? It annoy you? Glad I can get some payback...fucker. Oh and by the way, I can read the control panel...notice the rank, asshole.

Before you go off on your little hissy fit some more, think about what you're saying. You're telling me that if I ever want to be a man, I have to be good at running around shooting little foam cylinders out of a pneumatic weapon designed for kids in the age range of 5-12.

The grow a pair comment was mainly refering to YOUR age and more importantly that YOU"RE a pussy. And seriously, grow a pair, you started an arguement on a Nerf board, and not one that had much merit, I just told you to worry about skill before gear. If you disagree, well, I don't care.

Think about what you really want to say to me.

I really want to say that you need to change your pull ups and drop the hanky. The only reason you could possibly get this upset is because you feel threatened. So by all means, continue this little charade of idiocy, but leave me out of it. I don't need a wet back's approval on my methods to feel secure.

Starbuck - Ok, that's not a bad name for it. I guess technically it is lighter then it was before hand.

Hugs and kisses,

Talio.

I could basically predict the path of this thread before I opened it...especially since Talio was the last poster  . I think Talio is right though, and we've discussed this in several threads that if you actually Nerf you really don't need gear. I mean honestly you have to suck pretty bad to unload your entire sm1500 at someone 30 feet away and miss all the shots, and then take out one of your multiple mavericks and miss those shots too. Unless you're playing, what is it, like East coast style I believe? where you can keep shooting even after you get hit, you're probably not gonna even need a sidearm.

The only reason you could possibly get this upset is because you feel threatened.

Hypocrite.

I could say worlds more about how wrong you are, but I've posted enough for today. You've said your pieces, no matter how whiny, and I've said mine. The Canadian comment you made was supposed to rile me up, but I can't let someone like you get under my skin.

Sadly, I've gotten under yours. I mean, why else would you bring out insults like "pussy", "bitch", "asshole", and such? You must be feeling very threatened, Talio.

I remember you told me you were happy with the size of your "member". Well, it's got 922 posts and counting. Tell me when you figure out what that means.

Your title has nothing to do with your reading abilities. Can you even pronounce your title?

If you get an adrenaline rush from dodging foam darts, then you may need to grow yourself some testicles as well. A sign of your lack of testosterone is the fact that you tried to insult my own. Get some original material, and try to stick to it.

Hugs and kisses,

-Cam

Fucking trembling. Really, I am scared. I can't believe you figured out my post count. Holy shit, what the hell am I going to do? Shit, you think they'll figure out I'm an admin here and hence have to post a little bit more? Holy fuck...I'm ruined....RUINED!

Oh MS Word, damn it, that means I have to go back to an MS system, oh fuck. What am I going to do? Damn you Linus, damn you!

I need to make an appointment with my Dermatologist, get this kid out from under my skin. Oh wait, better idea...BW, you back talk me one more time, I'm suspending you. Bitch. And by all means, PM CX, tell him how shitty of a job I'm doing. I'd love to get back some of my free time. Really, it worked awesome for Okto. BW, if you would like to continue this conversation with you, because I think we've gotten off on the wrong foot. Email me (Talio@Nerfhaven.com) or IM me (TheTalio), I'll buy you dinner. Or you could just ruin this topic some more and I could suspend you. You're choice.

In the meantime, lets get this topic back on track. I'll tell you this much. From my experience, strapping more then two guns to yourself is pretty much pointless. It might be cool looking, but having alot of guns gets ackward, slows you down, and gives you more stuff to hit. However I've seen OMC with an assload of guns on his crossbow and pistol on his thigh and he tends to get hits. Then again, he played a while before he tried to do it. Hence if you're going to do that, I think you should probably get some experience first, and figure out your groove before you try to make alot of gadgets. In the long run, your mods and gadgets will be more useful and innovative.

Talio.

Edit - To the below comment...I'm fucking done with this do what you want, I don't give a fuck.

you started an arguement on a Nerf board

Woah there buddy. If I recall correcatly, it is you who started this argument.

Step one - get some skill....From what I can tell, most of you are still working on step one.

To me that sounds alot like a completely unnecessary and undeserved insult. You can't rell somebody to back down from your insults just because you have your own avater and a title.

Stop telling people that the way that they prefer to nerf is wrong and ineffective becuase you really don't know until you've nerfed with them. Remember that series of articles that TIS recently wrote? One of the articles was besed on finding an arsenal and style that fits you best. Going with a single blaster may be your style, but other people like to strap as much as they can onto themselves. It's their decision stop telling them that it doesn't work.

I just told you to worry about skill before gear

Alright, for the most part, I agree with you on this. But lets take a minute to think bout our good friend Batman. Now Batman has no super powers besides being rediciuosly rich. The only reason that he can fight crime so well is because he has a freakin utility belt and kick-ass car. Without that stuff, he'd be sunk. Now, I'm not saying that I'm Batman, I'm just saying that a inexperienced nerfer going into a war with a well modded
supermaxx 1500 is probably going to beat the veteran with an unmodded one.

I'm not trying to be a dick or anything but I can't stand you always telling people that they're wrong and need to take a lesson from you. If people like to nerf with more that one gun, then let them.

Anyways, I am currently one of Black's holster for my Mav and a strap for my sm1500.

I need to make an appointment with my Dermatologist.  BW, you back talk me one more time, I'm suspending you.  Bitch.

Talio.

Go ahead and make and example of me.

You know you want to; you'll feel so powerful.

Show off to all of your admin friends, they're waiting for a good show. Try to impress them with your iron fist, show them you mean business. Show them you're "the man". Power trips are fun, aren't they? You just love the feeling of being better than everyone else; higher up then all the little children.

Your "holier than thou" attitude is a tried and true way to fail. The problem is, people with that kind of attitude can't see that they have the problem in the first place. A sad circle is your life, buddy; enjoying the ride?

Go get a job with your attitude and see if you "rise up" above everyone else, or if you get canned because you can't work with people or spell your own name.

Bitch.

Feeling powerful? Asshole. Slut. Dick. Bitch. Pansy. Pussy. Look, I'm just like Talio! I love my new attitude and mindset, where has it been all my life?

Oh yeah. In the toilet.

Later, bitch.

EDIT: Nice Edit Talio, really stuck it to me. I wouldn't run to Cx either. You've got the power, don't you? You're the best, aren't you?

My fate is in your hands. Getting an adrenaline rush?
