I still haven't been able to test my Inquisitorial forces against either the Eldar or the Dark Eldar. I'm relatively new to the game (just started playing when the Fourth Edition rules were released, so I have about eight months under my belt). I've played nearly every other army (Orks, Chaos, 'Nids, Space Marines of all varieties, Guard, Necrons, and Tau). I tend to trounce Orks (Daemonhunters are ridiculous in CC), I send Necrons to the junkyard, and I usually crush Chaos beneath my heel. I'm pretty even against Guard and Marines. But 'Nids just walk all over me. The problem with my build is that Daemonhunters cost a helluva lot of points, so I don't have a huge model count. And with 'Nids having huge model counts and great initiative, I am quite often screwed.

Hey Death, you and I are in the same boat. I play Deathwing, a specialist army of the Dark Angels that uses all Terminators and Dreadnoughts. My basic troop choice costs 45 points a pop with no upgrades. One of my friend plays horde armies - Tyranids and Imperial Guard. Basically, a shitload of 6 point models. What's really fun is running a squad straight through about 40 or so models and just obliterating them.

I've played Eldar several times, specifically the Alaitoc Craftworld that uses an assload of Rangers and Pathfinders, and let me tell you they are not fun to play against. Some special rule about massive loser fire, half of your army starts in reserve. I've also played Uthwe Strike Force Eldar, which use webway portals and hop all over the board. Sneaky, sneaky xenos - I tell ya'. The two armies I have yet to play is Orks and Dark Eldar.

Ooooooh, Deathwing. Gotta love Deathwing. In my recent builds, I've been incorporating Witch Hunters into my Army List for more variety and a bit of a better model count. But for a very long while, I was playing pure Grey Knights. Not so bad as Deathwing-- my troops choices are 25pts a model. But still, I once played a few 500-point 40K-in-40-Minutes games in which I could afford only 10 Grey Knights and had to face off against more than 40 'Nids, and more than 65 Guardsmen. Needless to say, I got trounced in those games.

I have an entire Tau army I bought en masse off the War Store website, but I don't think I'll get it done till the end of summer; can't wait though. I also can't wait for the new Tau Codex; no clue when it's coming out, but the Tau could definitely use a rules update.

As far as taking on swarm armies, if you have something that can pin, it will save your life. Against Orks, you have to have at least one fast-mover, because if they take a Basilisk (artillery vehicle), it's all over.
