During the Armegeddon today I was talking to Groove and Death about Apoc. I've decided I'm going to buy tickets to go to Apoc next week... but the tickets are going to be for the war next year. Should be about, $70 or $80, hope you guys have a fun war, and hopefully war with you guys next year.

Well gents, good news and bad. Good news is, I have a much needed break the weekend of Apoc. 3 1/2 days off. Bad news is, I'll be in court over my birthday. Therefore, the weekend of the 7th, I plan on being so shitfaced that I can't remember my name and celebrate my birthday. I have no idea what's going to happen, but seeing as last year I did nothing for my 21, I'm planning on actually celebrating this year and showing myself a good time. If the war were the 6th, I'd be there, but we're not changing it now. Basically, I'm calling myself out, but on the morning of the 7th, if I feel like taking a drive up to see my buddies, I'll be there.

Is it a big park or if we like drive around will we see you? In other words weres the specific location in the park because it looks big. Also does anyone have a cell# incase we get lost on the way there

HAHA! Nobody finds that park the first time. Hell the Philly kids almost drown getting there if I remember correctly. I ended up at an elementry school. It's fucking hidden.

The park's website can be found at the following link. If you need directions, I would suggest running them through Google maps. The way to enter it for correct directions is "[your address here] to Mill Creek Road & Chelsea Avenue Berkeley Township, NJ." If you zoom into the final destination enough, you will see it puts you at the far corner of the park, and that the entrance is less than 200 meters down the road.

In terms of a cell phone number, you are welcome to have mine. I'll PM it to you (and anyone else) when you know that you're coming.

Maybe it has something to do with being born in NJ, but Fred found it on the first try, and the first time I drove there when I got my license I found it by memory without directions. Of course the last time I went I couldn't even remember what exit it's off of, but that's besides the point...

For the record, I totally blew past it the first time. But all of beachwood was having a garage sale, so I toured the neighborhood for like 20 mins before stumbling upon the park.

So, beyond people past experiences with missing the entrance to the park. Can we have a head count on those who are coming and who aren't? Talio i can supply you with some "beverages" if you choose to attend. And if you do just pack up and leave early if you want to splurge on your birthday. I mean shit you have all night to get completely hammered.

Actually, it's more that I have to be at work the next morning. Last time we played all day Sunday and I was back in the data center Monday, I felt like I was going to die all day. I have to be on my feet pretty much 7 of the 8 hours I'm there. Also being as I have three or four days off before hand in which I will be making rounds at my spots down here, I'm going to be either A. Flat broke or B. Sick as a dog. It's fubar that I have to testify on my birthday, so I'm trying to make the best of a fucked up situation. As stated, I may try and make it, but I think my family is going to throw me a party that day and it wouldn't be polite to not show up at my own party.

Alright guys, how about a head count for Sunday? I'm planning on getting things going at 11. As long as one other person is there, we're making teams. There will be a lunch break, but we're going to limit that as best as we can. I'm pretty much open to different game types, so we can figure those out as we go along. Long story short, I just want as much Nerf in as possible.

Ok, how come all the buzz I'm getting from this war is that it's going to be one depressing affair? Is it a funeral, should I bring a caserol? Seriously, I wanted to come but the word on the street is that I'll just be very sad if I do.

In other words, what's going on here? Why is this nerf war sounding so damn serious? I'm not trying to start an argument or put anyone down here, I just want to be convinced that I'm wrong.

That's just because my navigational abilities are far superior to all of yours (unless, that is, I happen to be in the shower at the time).

It doesn't look like I'm going to be able to make it. I've got a lot of stuff going on this weekend at Rutgers and whatever time I'm not spending in front of the computer typing out project requests for work is going to be spent getting plastered.

Agreed. Understand that my reason is merely logistical. It's my last weekend off in August and my family wants to have my party, not my fault. It was the Deal War on June 25th, which, if my memory serves me right, was only about six weeks ago or so. I couldn't stay at "Hershfest" long because my roommate (one of my oldest friends) had his 21st birthday party the night before, and I was partying in New Brunswick until about 7 am or so. I also had pre-existing dinner plans for later that afternoon in Middletown, meaning I had to leave at 3 so I could run some errands, take a shower, and wipe the disgusting after-aroma of sweat and beer off of myself.

As for my tendency to skip out on smaller, spur-of-the-moment, less organized events, I guess the best and most honest way to explain this is that I really don't care enough about this stuff to attend them. From reading the boards, I know I'm not the only one who shares this (at least implied) feeling. I've got more crap going on right now that I ever have had before in my life, and I'm just a little too busy right now to, pretty much on a whim, spend what is probably my one free day of the week Nerfing on that consistent of a basis.

You're welcome to your opinions, and as a friend, I'm not going to challenge them in a public forum. Sorry if I've insulted you.

There comes a time when everyone has to prioritize, at least a little bit.

I don't know what is going on here, but it seems like the love is rather tainted with NJ nerf. Perhaps we should reconcile this as a group at some point? How about Sunday for starters?
